The LSD came standard in 04. Was on option in 03.

 

how could someone tell if they have a lsd on their 03???

 

It was. Im trying to find proof, but I know it was.

In 03 though there was an option for factory LSD. When the realized it made the car 100X better, it became standard.

 

No, there wasn't an option from the factory for 2003 cars. The Quaife became standard in 2004 and after the '04 cars came out you could buy one through the dealer and have installed in an '03 car, but that's the only way to get one in an '03 trans through your dealer.

 

Unless you're talking pre-production, prototype, or other similar corporate vehicles, the 2003 cars didn't come with the Quaife ATB diff. It was introduced for the 2004 and later models. Unless you or a previous owner purchased and installed one or swapped in a trans that already had one installed the 2003 cars won't have a Quaife.

Ok. So it was technically an "option" on 2003 cars after 04.

I had heard/read it was an option in 03. Guess I was wrong.
