I was just curious as to how much boost you can run on a stock SRT-4 block safely? If I end up picking one up, then I wanted to know what I can do to pull more power out of it.

That is the most ambiguous question ever. There are too many variables involved to give you any type of a decent answer. Type of turbo, supporting boltons, etc.

like uber said that's a little too broad of a question. If you'd like to know how much does a stock turbo allow it'd be around 20-22 efficiently with the dyno-queens spiking up to 23-24.

There are stock blocks out there holding 400-500+ whp. as far as boost well it varies from setup to setup.

hope that helped some.

I would say asking what the Stock engine can handle is a more gaugeable question. Boost is so variable and all depends on the turbo. but like others have said, 450-500hp is what the stock engine seems to handle before its limits are met.

I thought I saw someone post that they ran 30+psi on the stock block, but I could be wrong.

Well , thats question should have a few other things in it like : turbo size and if you look for numbers based off stock or built engine . What numbers are you looking for ??

Was just looking through the thread and noticed XtremeBoost's

What is a Strap Kit?

And yes this question is way too vague.

Dammit J-lo! ...just about fell over on that one. No jokies! LOL!

Also...what is your fuel system like? Run too lean and you're asking for a new engine.

A strap kit is re-enforcement for the stock mains , they are made out of billet 4340 steel !!! At high HP the mains will crack and make you have a very bad weekend !!! lol

I see/read, Thanks for the Info.

You learn something new everyday...

Still 800HP is insane and I will NEVER see that number... :eveilgrin

I'm running a T10\150mm custom turbo, it's pushing 68psi, tappering to 55 at redline, since I'm on the stock fuel system, I'm waiting to really push it. I'm shooting for worp 1.5, and finish, before I even start, it's a time space thing.

See , now I know you're lying !!!! The turbo you have is NOT the T10"R" which is the 150mm custom unit , you have the t10 which is ONLY a 137.5mm turbo and that can only do worp 1.2 NOT 1.5 :bs2:

Thank you, I guess I have to phrase my questions perfect on this forum, or let the flaming begin, huh.. Yes, this answered my question. I guess the right question would have been "what is the stock SRT-4 block capable of making, SAFELY, before internals are required"? I know boost levels, fuel, turbo size, etc are all factors in power output, but that wasn't my question.

I am wanting to pick one up (because of a baby), and possibly get out of my civic hatchback. It's fully built and boosted also.. Thanks for the response..
