As many of you know I originally installed a ported head from Fullybuilt. I stuck with stock valves and cams. Immediately after I installed it I wished that I had been more aggressive.
A friend of mine (Finetuner) turned me on to a local guy who specialized in DCX cylinder heads for Vipers, Hemi's, etc. He has done a lot of race car work and knows his shit inside and out. The head I bought from him (JM Cylinder Heads) was prepped with a full race port, high performance (oversized) intake and exhaust valves, and springs/seals to suite. I am still running the stock cams.
This head is freakin incredible. My pump gas dyno was 356hp, with a HOM dyno of 379hp. 356hp on pump gas?? :wah?!: I did these runs at stock Stage 3 boost levels (about 19-20psi per my gauge). NO BLEED VALVE like I usually run at the track and on my last dyno pull. Complete S3 computer control. The best part is that the HP curve is almost flat on the top end. It keeps making power past the usual 5200 rpm peak.
After 1st gear at the drag strip our cars run mostly in the 4800-6500rpm range as we go through the gears. Take a look at the dyno sheets - awesome, constant, usable hp with little drop off in the 4800-6500 range. Every day driveablility is exactly the same as it was before the head.
I don't want to break any forum vendor rules, so please shoot me a PM if you want contact info for this company. I highly, highly, highly, highly recommend them. I'm not usually so vocal about my performance parts, but I feel pretty strongly about this.
