Missing and popping at idle... *vid*

I've been dealing with this issue since I bought the car, but it seems to be getting worse. When sitting idle at a stoplight, the car will often miss and cause the exhaust to pop and the vacuum gauge will drop roughly 1/4inHg. Revving in neutral will cause more popping. However, when I'm driving in-gear everything is fine... no missing at all and the car pulls hard spiking at 15psi and falling to 13. I've noticed when my A/C is on there seems to be less missing and popping, or at least it's not missing as badly.

I've zip-tied all vacuum lines (I think), bought new NGK LZTR6AIX-13 plugs and Granatelli wires trying to fix the problem. Other mods include a MPx catch can, brass check valve, and an AEM CAI. Other than that, the car is stock at 51,000 miles.

In the video I run it at 1500 RPM, 2000 RPM then idle.

Any ideas???

My idle is the same way. Been that way for a long time.
I replaced the plug wires and plugs and that didn't seem to help. I have a scan gauge and it doesn't look like my tps is acting funny.

I just installed the mopar s3 turbo and fueling. Started the car on the s2 PCM and I've still got idle miss. No codes. I was hoping the idle issue was my stock fpr but it wasn't. I'm driving it to the dealership Tuesday to get my used s3 PCM vin flashed but I'm betting it'll still miss.

Initially the car idles smooth and then I can hear a click around the pass side wheel well. From then on it misses. If the s3 PCM doesn't fix things I'm going to look into the evap sys.

Jiggle the IAC wiring harness and see if the idle changes then spray some carb cleaner around the throttle body and intake manifold mating surfaces and listen for a change in the motor.

I already covered my coil and plugs with dielectric grease. When I was doing that, I noticed that my 1 and 3 contacts on the coil both had a small brown spot on them, but they didn't really look burnt. I'm almost thinking it's a bad injector, I already tried running a bottle of injector cleaner through... it didn't make a difference.

mines been doing the same since i bought the car 3 years ago also. Completely stock 50,000 miles. I replaced coil pack, wires, and spark plugs still does the same. Car still drives fine though other than my tps issues.

What happened when you followed my suggestion? Also, you have the wrong plugs in the car. Those are 1 step colder then stock which are for cars making 75-100hp over stock. Put in NGK 4306's stock heat range, gapped .040.

Just to ad to an old thread, I have a pop in my Idle as well as a CEL for p0302 misfire in cylinder 2. What I did and what anyone else can do that comes across this thread is.

1. Pull your fuel rail

2. swap the bad injector with another

3. reinstall fuel rail

4. reconnect battery (disconnect battery first duh)

5. prime the system with fuel by ignition key on/off 3-4x

6. drive and wait for a CEl code to appear if it jumped cylinders you have found your issue.

mine went bad around 145,000.. couldn't figure what it was until I got better at mechanics
ran it like that for 20,000 =0
