I need to add some coolant and I looked in the manual and they said only use Mopar coolant. Is this just them wanting us to buy their product and would any other coolant do any damage. Thanks
yeah that was what i was thinking about doing tomorrow aswell. just not as much coolant though because i prefer to run more water throught the system. but i just went out to test my coolant and it was to low to check (cap blew off on freeway for the second time) :flame: and i must not have filled with enough water. but it just went from pretty warm back to cold as hell tonight. so i REALLY hope i still have enough coolant in there for it not to freeze up on me :crying:BLKDOUTSRT4 said:the first thing i did when i bought my car was to put regular ol green coolant 75/25 all the time i have been working at dodge the red coolant always rusts i might try that vw coolant or the blue honda stuff i hear they are both good but for now regular ol green
I can only wish to be that cool someday...BoostLee said:is that you in the sig?

I suggest you do a little research on the "good ole green stuff".There is a reason hardly anyone uses it anymore..
Sorry, but if you trust that, your being foolish. Really. The facts have been presented, from industry informational sites. Trusting your dealer on this is asking for trouble.endlessheart666 said:I just called the dealer and he said the Dexcool was fine...But I'm still thinking about getting a flush done anyways and switching.
Looking at your mod list, youve got maybe $1500-2K into your car. $150 or so for a flush and fill is pretty cheap insurance.endlessheart666 said:I'm not really that worried about having a lot in my system. I've used about 3/8 of the bottle in total. Plus I accidently spilt a shit load and then there was the hose popping off story. And today I also dumped out the overflow tank and threw in regular distilled water. I may have maybe a pint in the coolant system. Not too big of a deal I think.
or $40 for a coolant flush and full syn oil change :thumbsup:glhs837 said:Looking at your mod list, youve got maybe $1500-2K into your car. $150 or so for a flush and fill is pretty cheap insurance.
i like to fill it with water then drain again to be safe.webmaster@revitup said:That will do it! I used a pressure machine at work which makes it easy to refill once you drain it, but the drain alone will do it!
Yeah the dealer is always rightendlessheart666 said:I just called the dealer and he said the Dexcool was fine...But I'm still thinking about getting a flush done anyways and switching.
If thats a dealer talking, he's lying like a dog. No way in hell can a delaer do that for that price. If its you, doing it your self, thats fine, but personally, I would have a professional flush & fill if my system has been mixed.flybye4 said:or $40 for a coolant flush and full syn oil change
