If you are having an issue with the Profec B Spec 2 where it surges if you don't cycle it between hi/lo or make a setting change then read what I sent to greddy and the reply below. Not sure if Greddy really wants me to post this, but I know of a few people that are experiencing the issue. The guy I spoke to said the fix should be posted on there website soon. He was very helpful.

Oh and if you want the alarm to come on at 16psi, set it to 230. The issue is there is a conversion problem from kpa to psi.

What I sent to Greddy:

I have a PRofec B spec II, which I got for Christmas. There seems to be a glitch in the unit. If I do not cycle between hi/lo the unit will alarm and surge when I get to 14-15psi. IF I DO cycle between hi/lo the unit will work rock solid until I power off the car. I am aware of 2 other people that are having the same issue. Everyone else I have talked to doesn't have this issue. Was there a bad batch of units?

Thanks,
Chris

Greddy Reply:

I have heard of this problem with a couple of users. However, before I have you send the unit back to us, I would like you to try a few different settings on the B-Spec 2. So if you get a chance, call in to 949-588-8300 and ask for Matt. I would like to speak with you directly.

Chris...Thanks for that info bro.

I was stumped! I usually stay in high but just don't get on it. But when I do, I have the alarm set at 19psi. But it would alarm at 14.5 or 15 and pull boost down. But I would just change the alarm from 190 to 189 back to 190 and push the dial and save it. Took care of it. So, what should I set the alarm at if I am wanting to alarm at 18.5psi? Thanks.

I would call Matt and ask him to give you some numbers. He worked a calculation and gave me numbers to use. I would have asked him for the calculation, but I was in my car when we were testing...

I THINK, you could assume that whatever you input is going to be looked at in Kpa. In the book I think I saw an equation to go from Kpa to psi. I would try working it backwards to see what you would input on the Profec.

Good luck, I know I was frustrated for awhile...

My alarm seems to work, but I have that surge problem. Did he give you a fix for that?
Whatever numbers he gave me was the fix for the surge. I haven't hit the alarm yet, so I don't know if my alarm works.

Set your alarm to 230 and see if you have surge after you turn off the car and go for a test drive.
