I have an 04 srt-4 and she shifts up and down gear smoothly with one exception. When im down shifting from 4th to 3rd, 3rd gear wont catch. Instead it makes a loud grinding/screeching noise. I know its not my timing or clutching in or anything because it happens every time I try to down shift into 3rd. I've been throwing it into N and letting the cars rpms slow down and the mph go down before throwing it into 2nd gear to avoid down shifting into 3rd. Any advice?

I might be wrong but to me it sounds like the sincros r going have u tried double clutching??? if not then when u go to down shift to 3rd first put it in neutral then give the car a rev to about where the rpms would go from the down shift then put it into 3rd gear, if that works then its your sincros
Yea man I meant to say your 3/4 syncro is almost out. You wont have to replace the whole transmission.
