Does anyone know if the mopar bov would sound louder than it should if it indeed was leaking? When I am under heavy boost and it blows off it is Extremely loud. Just curious.

How does the Mopar sound compared to the XS BOV? (If anyone knows) Is it as loud? Louder? I read [modernperformance.com] that I could just buy the plate if I dont plan on running over 300hp. (280hp is enough for me. I think) So instead of paying around $150 for one I could less than half and get the plate.

I think the mopar sounds good...I just need to make sure it's not leaking by tightening it up and maybe adding some gasket sealant.

Don't know yet..I plan on tighteing it up this weekend. I was just wondering if the BOV was leaking if the BOV woudl sound louder.

If what you are saying is correct you are probably not leaking anywhere, if you do tighten it up remember it is only aluminum, and will strip if tightened too much. And yes it is supposed to should louder under high boost. The turbo is spinning faster and is pushing more air = louder.

You wouldn't be able to hold boost if it was leaking. Generally, the higher the boost pressure the louder the sneeze when you lift.

it _is_ supposed to make noise when you let off the gas... like what's said above. the more boost, the louder the blowoff...

Yea my mopar bov is really loud under high boost, Me and a friend compared our cars he had the wrx with the hks and mine with mopar. The mopar was louder :thumbsup:

Yes it will be VERY loud and you will hear a drill type noise...

If you put in hyperthreaded Muffler bearings the BoV will sound louder.

You have to be careful on that though, and be sure to get plastic plug wires first or you could run too rich. :thumbsup:
