I'm not sure if there is anyone else on this board that lives in Virginia, but.... I just got a reply from the only dealer in Virginia listed on Dodge's site as being an SRT-4 dealer. They want $2,000 to hold a spot and it will sell for $3,000 over MSRP. I hope other dealers around here won't take the same approach... I just might start looking at Florida dealers soon.

Ok everyone - we need to launch a letter writing campagine to Dodge. Every dealer selling for more than 1k over MSRP, write a letter to Dodge and let them know. I don't know if it will do any good, but maybe Dodge will step up. There was a report of a guy who wrote Dodge about a dealer marking up 5k, and they pulled that dealers allotment of SRT's. Maybe if we cause enough noise, AND refuse to pay more than MSRP (with in reason), we can get these dealers to give in. It sounds like the applies to Cali most.. I'll see if I can get an email to the correct people ....

I'm not so sure Chrysler will do much about it. You CAN complain to the state attorney general. I would say markups over 10% is unreasonable. You can get the form for Florida here.

Everyone else will have to check their own states. The BEST thing to do is just not buy them if they are marked up. It's the people that can't wait a few extra days or weeks that drive the prices up. It's just a car. They'll build more.
