Hi,
Someone here must know a trick to solve the following "all-too-common" problem that windshield wipers have.

My wipers totally skip and shudder as they wipe. Is there some sort of lubricant or something I can wipe onto the blades to make them wipe more smoothly?

Almost every car I have ever owned has done this to some degree or other, I'm finally annoyed enough to ask if there is a solution.

Thanks.

Expensive silicone based wiper blades, stock ones are usually el-cheapo rubber so you come back to the dealer every 3 months for new ones. $12 seems expensive, but it's better to be able to see out the window, or worse yet like my ex's cavailer, the wiper blade deteriorates and the arm scratches the windshield!

No rainx, does that help or hinder?

I think the problem is also worse because I'm in So. California. It rarely rains so the wipers get totally dried out by being baked in the sun and only used a few times a year. I'll probably pick up some silicone based blades next fall.

Thanks

I have found wiping them during your weekly wash helps a lot!
Wipe the blade it self. Also silicon spray seems to help.

Easy way out, get better blades :)

My stock blades are about shot as of now and I'm about to get new ones. I use Bosch MICRO myself, and with all the rain we get I usually replace them one a year because wippers are very important to me..
