Which Exhaust Should I Buy?

1127 Views 26 Replies 20 Participants Last post by  1LAPSRT
There are many exhaust systems to choose from, but could I please have some suggestions on what exhaust to buy? I want to have the best performance- that's the top priority. Should I go with something the MPx 3" turbo back or go with a cat back combination system?

For starters, definitely 3" all the way back for the most performance. There are several ways of doing this. The cheapest route would be to buy a 3" 02 housing and downpipe and then have an exhaust shop build you a 3" cat back. This option could be around 500 bucks if you play your cards right. The turbobacks out there are good options as well, but you'll most likely end up payin a couple hundred bucks more...just depends on what'cha wanna do. Take a look at the exhaust sound/movie clip thread and see what suits your needs in there, lots of different exhausts to listen to.
Go with Mpx, They have the best sound and there has been no complaints about them. Its all stainless steel and mandrel bent. Plus its only 660 right now!!!
Injen catless dp and catback. You can't go wrong!
mpx turbo back including the o2 housing...or...mopar borla w/ maxxfab dp and o2 housing

I wish they still made the mopar/maxxfab combo. I would have bought it if they did.
needswings.
Maxxfab side exit is on my car...I love it, got the turbo back with a cat no res. for 545 shipped (last year don't know current price) it's lighter than stock, a lot louder and deeper, and the backfires are just incredible. Of course people complain it sounds like a diesel truck coming up, til you get on it. But it is very distinct and leaves no doubt that you have arrived. But it's not for everyone.
MAXXFAB is the only way to go..... Scott makes the best quality product available for the SRT !

maxx fab for exhaust system. If you just care about track performance then buy the maxxfab o2 houseing and a 3inch cutout downpipe!
I will throw my vote in for the Maxxfab system as well
stay away from the mpx.......there plenty of them rolling around here where i live and all of them have had to be re welded at some point in the system....most have been the tail twin tip section.....the newest one was right after the cat on a buds down pipe it just decided to totally break off at the weld in a clean cut.....i mean its not jagged or anything.......

maxfab
injen
needswings/mopar

3 best ones

Other than the hangers falling off and needing to be welded back on.
MAXXFAB. When I can't afford Ramen Noodles, I may sell it. Otherwise, it will die when the car does. MAXXFAB ATW FTMFW. 3" O2 housing + 3" Single tip=Seks almost.
and the split in the back breaking in 2, the down pipe welds breaking and the res loosing its packing and just blowing out the tips.....sure there are no complaints
So which Maxxfab combination should I go with?

If you dont care about loudness get their o2houseing, catless downpipe and the side exit exaust. Has the least amount of backpressure on their line up that i can remember. Oh and NO backpressure is a good thing:thumbsup:
I have the Single tip w/ magna flow muffler and 3" O2 housing, no cat, no res. I honestly think it is quieter than stock. You can hear the turbo whistle and the power is great. Has a real deep tone. I love mine.

That combination is still possible. You just get the mopar/borla catback from where ever and then the Maxxfab downpipe with the mopar adapter. Cut off the neckdown section and there ya go. According to the website, it's a simple mod to do.
