Still kind of amazed how many people ask me questions about the car, as well as compliment it. Up here in northern Minnesota , you dont see a lot of performance tuner cars, like you do down south. Good or bad response the srt still gets alot of attention.
Not as veteran as some in here but still have my original car with 17k miles and its broken yet again keeping with tradition. Have the billet input shaft to fix it but other projects get my time. Only stop on here about 10 minutes/month since, like others have said, the last few years have been barren on the forums. Still talk regularly to guys I met through the forums or racing these cars.
Just like the old Shelby Dodge and turbo Dodge mailing lists, after auto forums became popular and those cars got older and older the mailing lists died off. Now forums like this one are getting older and the "social media" thing and faceplacebook type sites are apparently killing off forums technology progresses and the the cars get older. The cycle always seems to repeat.
Oh well, it was a good run.
I was looking at my blue car the other day but haven't driven it for a few months other than periodically starting it. I think I've put more miles on my Spirit R/T this year and that's not saying much since that's probably only been a few hundred miles total.
That's crazy. I try to spread the love. (mileage) I have an r6 and a plated( aranoid: ) xr600r as well. Dirt bike needs an oil cooler. Its too hot to ride in this 100 degree steaming bullshit.
I try to spread the mileage around but usually after I buy a new car for the next year or so it gets driven a lot. And my my new CTS-V wagon is slightly more fun than the SRT-4.
I have done better about driving some of my other cars (mostly the '08 Cobalt SS Turbo and the '04 SVT Focus) so I haven't racked up too much mileage on the wagon in the last year or so that I've had it but I don't enjoy daily driving the SRT-4. With the 6-puck clutch, Mopar short-throw shifter and solid mounts it drives and makes noises like a diesel-powered commercial truck. Which reminds me I should slap a stock clutch and mounts back on the car since I'm not tracking it anymore and will pick up another one if I ever get some spare time to tune and modify.
That and the one time I did drive my SRT-4 to work earlier this year it got rear ended on the way home. Luckily it was only cosmetic with a few small scrapes on the bottom of the bumper cover and a bent exhaust tip but I still wasn't a happy camper. :flame:
Oh man. Ya you almost start to believe in bad luck. I remember flooring it on a certain onramp off the 15 and the coldside came off and destroyed the slave cylinder cable so i had to be towed home. Also been ran off the road on that same onramp. Also in my sisters focus for some reason the overdrive stopped working when i got to the top of the onramp. It is cursed.
