I went with the Trakmotive brand for my passenger side, still sitting next to me though since it's just the CV boot that's got a small tear.....

I replaced both mine last year with a set of OEs I had, as they were both starting to click at speed.
Going to try and get them to a local shop for rebuilding.

Do you think that'll be cheaper versus just buying new aftermarket ones?
(or you just want/prefer the OEM ones?)
If possible I'd prefer OE ones (re)made to OE specs with OE (or better) parts. The joints are replaceable, so all the other bits are fine. Hell if someone made a service kit for them I'd do it myself. It's not hard, just messy.

In fact I wish someone DID make rebuild kits for them that were appropriately priced. I'd buy several.

Drove it yesterday, albeit briefly. Tossed the Pilot Sports on.

Got rewarded with snow this morning.

it causes a monitor to not be set properly (or be reported properly) which in NJ causes it to fail, even without a CEL.
I have decided to take your advice and not install COde Scrubber.
Thank you for sharing your opinion/experience.

I will instead just revert to the stock PCM, MAP, TIP, INJECTORS.
I've done this many times before so it's easy for me.

Of course, I fully expect the P0440 EVAP CEL to reoccur with MY car with the stock PCM.
That;s because the stock PCM enables all the EVAP checks wherease the S3 PCM disables that.

So I'll be doing the EVAP dance like many other people with different vehicles are doing these days.

Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

Keep saving and you'll get there. So, there is the decision between just slapping the big turbo on with fuel system mods (I can't remember which injectors you got with the E85 tune, but you will need a bottleneck fix/returnline/FPR) and a tune and then wait and see how long that almost 200k miles long block will go, or start a short block build, then buy the other stuff and go crazy all at once.

Honestly, beyond S3 I don't see the point.
If there's one thing I've learned over nearly 18 years since i bought mine, is that big turbo breaks more cars than winter ever did.

My buddy is going big turbo this year, so I'm curious to see how my stage 3 will match up with him.

The s3 kits are out there, but very rare and i agree its the best setup for these cars.

If we can't find one he can do a small fast spooling big turbo like a gt3071r and get that quick spool with an easy 400whp

S3 isn't really an option anymore. Maybe it was for those that finished their project 10 years ago.
I got pretty lucky finding a complete S3 kit, but there was still a decent amount of stuff floating around out there to piece together a kit when I was sniffing around in the fall.

Did you just get it, btw?
Did you have to piece it all together yourself, or bought it all complete?
And how much did you get it for, if you don't mind me asking?
