Oh nice. If you ever see a red srt with yellow wilwoods give an ignorant wave.

Finally bringing the car out of hibernation. Over the winter I flocked the dash, put a wilwood bbk on and new rear LCAs.

Looks great!
Found some leftover stickers. Threw them on various things all over the shop, then decided to go all "Porsche-door-sticker" stealth-mode on the silver '4. Camera doesn't capture it well. Looks better IRL.

I see a reflection of a red SRT-4 there.....you have 2 of them?

2 and a half if you count the beating heart of my PT GT 'vert.

The red car is one of the 2004 SRT-4 press cars for Canada. I put in clutch #7. 123k kms. Pretty rough paint, but just got it mechanically sorted this year. Also, bone stock, right down to the air filter.

Guess I need an updated signature pic eh.

Clutch #7? Wow... I'm only on my 2nd clutch still. 165k miles. With lots of abuse along the way.

#7 according to the service paperwork, so "that we know of" kind of thing. I think 4 of those were in it's press-fleet lifespan IIRC. You think we drive 'em hard... let me introduce you to automotive journalists. I saved it from being shipped to the US for scrap with it's blown #6 clutch back in 2017.

I now own the car that is in the review that made me decide 100% that I wanted to buy one back in 2004.

They are an abusive lot.
final determination: not coming out to play this year. :(
Have it a good shakedown. Need a smaller turbo. Anyone have experience with the g25-550

Walbro 255 installed. Gas tank cleaned up. Also installed my Trinity in the factory pod. Hooked up the Holley EAS and got the wideband hooked up to the DST for logging as well. Starting on the fuel pump rewire and mounting water injection components in the trunk this weekend.

I'm planning to install a G25-550 .72ar later this year. Waiting on the tubular manifold to get built. ATP makes a T3 housing, but I wanted the garrett stainless steal vband housing. I'm hoping for stage 3 response with 100whp more.
I'd love for an elaboration. Isn't that an 84 trim turbo? How are you going to get a good response with such a big turbo?

Cool page. I'll check it out.
Drove to the grocery store and spent $200. Getting the purge valve replaced soon. Still running perfect.

Trim is not a measure of size, it’s a ratio of inducer to exducer. Compressor and turbine wheel sizes and a/r have a much greater affect on turbo spool/performance.

The Garret G25-550 is a similar size to the stage 3 turbo (actually slightly smaller), but extremely efficient and technological more advanced so is able to flow significantly more air. It should flow about the same as the gtx3071r but with smaller wheels so should spool significantly faster.

g25-550 specs:
  • compressor: 48mm inducer / 60mm exducer
  • turbine: 54mm inducer / 49mm exducer

Gtx3071r gen 2 specs:
  • compressor: 54mm inducer / 71mm exducer
  • turbine: 60mm inducer / 55mm exducer

stage 3 specs:
  • compressor: 49.3 inducer / 65mm exducer
  • turbine: 56.39 inducer / 49.10 exducer
