That sucks dude. I got a huge ticket for 'street racing' a WRX a couple weeks ago when I wasnt racing, and he was going about 70mph 20 feet in front of me and i was barely over the speed limit.

I have been lurking on here for a while, and would first off like to thank everyone for all the great information on the SRT-4.
Next I would like to say that I am now a proud owner of one. (Yes Lucy, I bought a neon...lol)
Lastly I will leave you all with a messed up story (yea, already.)
I picked up my SRT-4 on Tuesday in Houston where I live and work during the week. I came "Home" to my little town about an hour from Houston to visit my parents and show the car to my friends, since I'm the only one in town, population 9000, with an SRT-4.
I'm joy riding with my friend and this STI pulls beside me in a red light, I'm on the inside lane, he's on the outside. So I'm like, yea, I only have a few hundred miles on the car, I'm not gonna race this STI.
Light turns green, and he guns it HARD. A few seconds later a big truck pulls out in front of him from the LEFT, across all lanes, pushes him off the road, (he's probably goin at least 60 by now.) His car procedes to flip in the air and land up-side-down.
So I pull up behind him where he lands, and call the police. They show up, and start photoing my car along with his. Then some idiots that were at a gas station near by start telling the cops that WE were street racing.
Well, I don't get ticketed, but the cop was like, "Justin, I'm gonna tell you that this will be a street racing investigation." I was PISSED. There are soooo many things that show I was not at all racing this guy who just wanted to show off. Remeber, I'm on the INSIDE lane. The truck pulled out from the LEFT side and went across all lanes. Had I of been gunning it, I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN HIT!!!
Anyway, I love this car, and that's my story.

Mine ended up being 142 dollars :eeeek:
My street racing ticket came out to be like $280 or so. 62 in a 40 and Drag racing. Best part about it, I wasn't racing either. I was in a hurry to get home. I didn't even see the first gen eclipse behind me trying to keep up from the light.
Should have had pictures taken that showed you didnt leave tire marks from taking off. That would have been a help. I would also see if you can have a way of getting ur dealership to write a statement that they looked at the car and it showed no signs of wear from breaking it in to early. Just thought that might help
Honestly, I'm not so much worried about the price of the ticket, (if I get one in the mail, I will fight it obviously,) but the price effect on my insurance.
