What pieces do I need to upgrade my 100% stock system to either XM or Sirius? Is one easier than the other? (since DC offers Sirius) Approx cost? Thanks!

The DCx system if very easy to install since it's an easy plug and play system setup (atleast with my RB1 Navi unit it is). IMO Sirius is better than XM b/c you get much better stations. I think the Sirius kit from DCx was about $250-300 but don't hold me to it b/c I can't remember right now but it's well worth it.

I have the stock radio that came with the SRT and I went with the sirius. I really like it and haven't listened to the fm radio since I put in the sirius. The price, if you pay up front for one year you can have a $9/mo bill there after. BTW I did get the unit from dodge and the only part that I had a problem with was the size of the antenna, but I really like the stock look of the head unit.

No real need to change from liking alpine and taking another brand just to get Sirius. Alpine and Pioneer are both discussing the chance of not being just XM ready. Their radios in the future might be and say Satellite Radio Ready instead of XM or Sirius. I am an XM fan and being a MECP 1st Class Installer on top of that it will remain my choice for SR service. I read and hear from my customers about too many issues with reception or other related problems with Sirius. Their products are also way behind on the technology scale compared to XM. For a company whose reps come into my store and talk alot of trash about XM I let the reviews done by industry professionals on sound quality, reception, and also the number of subscribers and stock prices make my decision. Its a clear one. XM all the way. Check out XM411.com and look at the new Roady2 walkman unit that your Roady2 will dock into. It is nice. BTW in mention to the prices listed for hardware to add it to SR ready aftermarket decks the prices are little off. For $100 you can add XM with tuner, ant, and adapter to most sony, pioneer, alpine, and yes even kenwood with the new universal tuner by Terk. The new Sirius ded. unit is also out for 90 and that is tuner and antenna all in the box ready to go.

I have both Sirius and XM in my car and both have their good and bad points. The music on Sirius seems to be a lot better. XM will play a good song and then play something that is really deep that you have never heard of. The sound on XM is better and the roady equip is better than the Sirius equipment. If you like O&A then go XM or wait for Howard in 2006.

That is basically what any rep for XM will tell you. If you want music like what FM offers you but without the comercials then Sirius is for you. If you want more variety then XM is for you. Sirius plays more of what FM does so what is currently popular or was at one time. Alot of music is out there that hasn't been heard and you get that thrown into that "popular" mix on XM. And yes like bootsndave said you do not need to change your radio. Read my earlier thread where i mentioned headunits becoming SR ready vs XM or Sirius ready.

Could this: http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/piechry02aux.html
be used to link up a sirius unit, that you can get from Radio Shack, to the stock headunit rather than the Mopar unit?

When using the Mopar Sirius connection from a dealership, does the stock radio display information about the channel and song/program? Anyone have pics?

It depends. The RBK radio can't display anything since it only has a seven-segment display. Radios like RBP, RAZ, and RBQ have a dot-matrix display and can scroll info. RB1 can display everything on-screen at one time.
