haha, indeed.
I dont need any Sub-woofer to "bounce" my new cool rap song. I cant stand people like that, i hear more rattles in the body then i do of the bass. So you can tell there teens there also. And as far as there "options"
ANYone that knows what there doing when buying a car knows this..
Options are to make the dealers rich.
Exp. Mercades C240 C230 C230 Kompresser Sedan, Dont come with Cd player, Adjustable seats
*something you would expect to come stock*
price for the both... around 1,300

so i was more then happy when i heard SRT having no options

I hope y2kneon isn't one of you guys. He seems uhhh.....rather uneducated...yeah that's a nice way to put it. A Neon R/T isn't going to beat an RSX Type S or a regular RSX for that matter. I have seen stock RSX Type R's in the mid to high 14's and I'd be surprised if the R/T was even in the 15's. While they are arrogant, those RSX boys have one thing right, it does have a nicer interior than either the SRT or the WRX. It seems to me interior wise the RSX does have more to offer than the SRT, but performance wise the SRT has no competition in the RSX.

Side note; For some reason it bugs me to death when people call a car "peppy". That is such a homosexual word. I can see two guys walking down the street in San Francisco.

Christopher: "Guess what Charles, I just got my new Turbo Beetle and it is just divine"

Charles: "OHHHH MMYYYY GAWD those are cars are so cute I could just eat it up"

Christopher: "Oh Charles it is so peppy, you don't even know"

And to think ... I had my eyes on an Acura RSX Type S..... that was, until I heard about the Dodge SRT-4 :p

Some of those responses were pretty stupid, but then others flat out gave Dodge credit so that's cool. And don't diss all teens, I'm still 18... but I'm not stupid, I chose the Dodge SRT-4!

I dunno, the IQ of that board seems about the same as this one. I didn't see anyone there say an RSX will beat a SRT-4. Mostly complaining about interior and relability. All valid points.

Most of the time when those arguments pop up, it's because of insecurity. Car choice is a matter of personal preference. There are some people who always seem to have the mentality of "Mine is better than yours" and "If it costs more, it's gotta be better". For others, a car is an extension of themselves. How they tune it, or customize it or even rice it out reflects on their personalities. Luxury isn't what Dodge was going for when they designed the SRT 4. Although I'm sure it will be comfortable to drive, they didn't over do it. I for one don't really need leather seats or climate control to appreciate my car. I will take speed over a sun roof or stock subwoofer anyday. If I wanted luxury, I woud spend more money on a luxury car. I'm sure it's easy for owners who spent alot on their cars to dismiss the SRT 4 as a cheap Neon that only girls drive. Here's a good analogy. It's like on the court, someone is better than you in every area. They can rebound, they can dunk, they have a great outside shot and they dribble circles around you. You respond with "Well, you're poor and those are last year's nike's." "I mean, sure you're better at the game, but I have more money than you and better clothes." Sure the SRT 4 is faster, but the Acura is more expensive, and we have leather seats, a sunroof and climate control. Only time will tell.

I beg to differ. Dude Japanese cars are built much better than American cars in my opinion. Ever been in a 90's era F-body? They're fast as stink but they're pure garbage in terms of build quality. My dad has a 2001 Silverado that has rattles all over it and it's already been in the shop twice. My mom's Liberty has exhibited some strange behavior that has led to it going to the shop once already and we haven't had it for a year! One of my friends had a 1999 GMC Sierra 2500, that damn thing went through 4 transmissions in the first year they had it. My Legacy which is 10 years old with 120 grand on it hasn't seen a shop once in the three years I have owned it. My parents have also owned a lot of Subaru's and haven't had any major problems with them over 100k miles. I am sorry but I'm not impressed with Dodge or GM's build quality, and it really can't compare with most Japanese manufacturers

I've owned them all...

and you get some good ones and some bad ones from every manufacturer out there. I've had a Ford taraus that had 320,000 miles on it before she went to the junkyard with no major problems other than wear related.

Let's try not to blow this one out of proportion. I think everyone has had their own good/bad experiences with domestic and foreign cars. To lump all of them into one category or another is kind of foolish. I've had 2 sentras in the last 12 years and besides regular maintenance, alternator and a battery, I never had a problem. On the other hand my dad had a datsun pickup and it seemed like every weekend he was working on something else that went wrong. His next truck was a Ford F150 and hasn't had a single problem. My mom had a Chrysler Town and Country and right after the warranty ran out, the whole transmission went bad. It just comes down to personal experience. Before you buy, do your research and look up the reliability reports. I usually would stick with Nissan because I've never had a problem, but I really like the SRT 4 so I'm willing to take a chance. On a new car, its kind of difficult to judge how it will do. It's kind of unfair to say it will be unreliable because the previous model was. Alot of things have changed from the Neon to the SRT 4. Hopefully these changes will be beneficial.

My god you're a WRX whore.

Am I?? You know before you flame someone you should check to see what it was they actually wrote  Noooooooobie.

Anyway, yes it is prolly unfair to lump Japanese cars all into one category and American cars all into one category. Japan does have it's share of crappy car brands as does America. I just haven't been impressed with any of the American cars that I have had personal experience with.

BTW: Ironically no sooner had I typed the last post than my mom called me. Seems the Silverado is going into the shop yet again because it won't start. It's not like this truck is 20 years old, it's a 2001!

Most of the points on the RSX board were fine. (except the, "you don't need low RPM torque" comment...)
It's apples to oranges. The RSX is a nice, quice, easy to live with car. You can get it with an automatic, sunroof, cruise, etc. It won't kill your budget. There aren't a million of them on the street, and if you rev it high enough, it will produce power. But it's not the ballz out racer that an SRT is. And for me, the SRT is well nice enough to live with. Comfy seats that you won't slide around on. Short shifter, nice gages and easy controls. A CD Player standard, etc. I want a ballz out car, so the SRT is an easy choice over a RSX. Some people are soo touchy.. Mine's better (bigger) than yours... No it's not.... Yes it is.... Blah blah blah... Most RSX owners won't care that they got beat at the track, and most SRT owners won't care that you've got leather seats...
