Those in the Audio industry might be able to help me with this one. The TT feature on many of todays alarms like Viper, does that just allow you to use a TT, or does it actually have a TT built in? And would an install shop be able to install a Remote start unit in a car witha manual transmission. I know a lot of places won't in case you leave it in gear, but with a TT, it will always be left in neutral. Thanks for the help!

Yes the Viper 790XV http://www.viper.com/security/viper/viper_responder.asp
Has all of those built in. Now the fun part, is finding a shop that will put a remote start in a manual vehicle, and have them be a authorized DEI dealer. I could do it for you, but of course it would be out of my driveway, and not out of the shop, and you would have to sign a few papers to cover my ass. Of course as you said if the timer goes every time, people shouldn't be leaving it in gear, but you not every time will you be driving your car yourself, and if someone doesn't know it could be dangerous.

My alarm also has a TT feacher if you have the remote start installed.

FYI....

Todays remote starts are smarter than the older ones. If I was to get it installed This is how the remote start works.

1) You have to have it in neutral before you get out of the car.
2) Get out and arm the alarm and it will turn your engine off.
a) If you have TT set it will run till time to turn off.
3) Since you armed it in neutral while the car was running you and the car know it is in neutral.
4) If you unarm the car for any reason it will reset and not allow you to remote start it untill you go back to step 1.
5) Hit the button to remote start your car in the morning and your good to go.

I decided against a remote start cause I'm not that lazy and it doesn't get that cold for too lone to justify the additional cost...

the compustar does the same thing (like daytona said)

pull the brake, make sure the car is out of gear, take the keys out, close the doors, the car shuts off and arms(i wont repeat the rest, you get the idea)

then yer good to go
