17x8 wheels

235/40-17 - This size is sketchy, a few confirmed cases of them fitting, others saying contact in the rear on the lower spring perch. Use at own risk and don't consider it as a definite fitment on all cars. These tires are 24.3" tall or shorter, but still over 1/2" taller than stock.

Max dry performance - expect maybe 15k miles:
Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07

245/35-17 - These tires should be used with caution. Load rating is lower than Dodge's spec. Height is ok.

Great wet and dry performance - expect 15-25k miles:
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

Good wet and dry performance - expect 20-30k miles:
Falken FK 452

Stow your thoughts on the following tire, please. 95% plus street/weekend/events driving. 1-2 visits to a drag strip but no dumping the clutch at the lights. 450 (street)-650(track)HP at times.
Thanks.

Continental ExtremeContact Sport Performance Radial Tire - 225/45ZR17 91W
BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 Radial Tire - 255/40R17 94Z

Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position - Size: 225/45R17
Michelin Pilot Super Sport - Size: 225/45ZR17
No all seasons unless you want some moderate snow grip.
Invo sucks, too design oriented.
The s-04 is old

Stick with an extreme performance tire for a non daily driver. Still safe if it starts raining, just need to be aware of standing water. These would be my choices.

Have a set of the RE71Rs coming in on Thursday from Discount Tire, they were less expensive than Tire Rack plus the rebates from them and the manufacturer made it the best deal!! Thanks guys!!
The V rated tires are only rated to 149 mph, which, I realize most people aren't going to approach that, but it remains important to take into account you'd be putting a lower rated tire on a car that does have a higher top end than the tire is rated for.
The speed rating is 168 on the Re71Rs, I doubt though I will be going even 149 at any venue anyway. Getting old I guess.........................;)

Oh I didn't mean those, but there were a couple of V rated ones.

Still liking my MICHELIN PILOT SPORT AS 3+ after about a year and 4500 miles.
They are wearing well and the grip is pretty good in the wet.
The ride is decent, even over bad, Sacramento Delta roads.
I know most people here want super sticky summer tires, but it rains in California...sometimes...

I will look into them, thank you. I have decided to not do any Track time except maybe once in the 1/4 mile at Indianapolis.

If you want good 3 season tires go with the Michelin Pilot 4S. They are an upgrade from the very good Super Sports. Unless, of course, you will actually see snow.

I have a set of 4 255/50r17's. Will they work with aftermarket wheels? The owner put a set of new BC Coilovers if that makes any difference. The car has 225/45r17's on it now. I still haven't asked him what wheels are on it, but they were on it when I originally purchased it. Sorry to have to ask so many questions.
They'll fit something, just not any srt4. Those are more appropriate on a charger.

Thank you. I had them sitting around and I thought that I would ask.
Hey Guy's. I run BF Goodridge R1 205 50 17" on my 2004 SRT4 car. I have had the four for 5 years now. I was thinking replace them soon. There not on the BF Goodridge site any more? Will tires in Extreme performance section keep up to these? I run 12.9 - 12.8 normally and at Drag Wars in Grande Prairie, my best time ever was 12.7 and a 12.6! I ran BF Goodridge ET DRAGS once and run 12.1 once. Let me know what you guy's think. i have time slips to back up my times! I run these on street too!
The r1 was a road course and autocross tire, soft rubber but very stiff sidewall. A good drag radial is going to be a lot better. Depending on tire size and power level extreme performance tires can be kind of close to what autox and track day tires can do.
Small nit to pick... BFGoodrich.

For straight line traction on the street M&H drag radials provide great grip. I just wouldn't recommend running them with stock axles. Or DSS Stage 3s for that matter.
I thought I was set on going with Michelin PS4's, in 205/50/17 for the stock wheels, but they're about 4lbs heavier than the Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02's.

EDIT: the Conti’s are also over $200 cheaper, for the set.

Thoughts?

225/50R16 Continental Extremecontact (says DWS tuned, so '06?). I'm very happy but still consider switching to drag radials on occasion as I'll probably always desire more traction.
