I'm not really sure what brought this thread on, but I'm not shy about putting my opinions in writing...
Thread crapping is simple to define. Go to any AGP thread and you will find Psi-Fi people (not neccessarily Psi-Fi themselves) crapping on the the thread for no apparent reason. Go to any Psi-Fi thread and you'll find AGP people (not neccessarily AGP themselves) doing the same thing. Go to any S2 thread more than a month or two old, and you'll find AGP and Psi-Fi people crapping on the thread.
Nuthugging, according to my peers, is what I do. I choose the best engineered, best tested product, and stick with it, even though it may not make all of the power of the other people, or be available as early as the others, and then defend those products from thread crappers. It's all a matter of attitude, people who choose products like I do may not have big dyno numbers, or really low quarter-mile times, but we seem to have a much better track record when it comes to reliability. I guess it doesn't matter to us who is fastest, just who can race every weekend. I guess that really bugs some people.
I suppose there is another kind of nuthugger. There is the kind that buy something just because it is new, and available, and then feel that they either have to commit to making that company/product successful at all costs, or admit that they wasted $700 again... I think those people are who this thread may be aimed at, but I would classify those peoples as classic thread crappers....
I know I learned my lesson earlier when I got involved in an AGP thread. I thought I was trying to help, and even sided with the AGP person, but because I'm not an AGP customer/user/thread crapper, I obviously didn't belong in that thread... I feel kinda bad for the guy with misfires who PM'ed me asking for help. After seeing the AGP turbo in his sig, I just pointed him to indicators that are blowing engines around here...
