if your like me and ditched the sab seat for aftermarket or even viper seats you get your air bag light. even if you put a viper seat pcm module in you still get the light. but thanks to violator here on the boards he enlightend me on how to solve this with the 2 ohm resistor setup. here is our convo via pm

hey if you get a chance to repsond to this please do. i have an 04 with sab seats orig. now it was one driver side aftermarket seat. neither of the harness plugs are pluged in even though the oem sab seat is in the passenger side. i first tryed the seat pcm swap to that of a viper equipped car but no worky. so far your the only person i've seen back in june of last year that has actually gotten the 2ohm resistor setup to work. getting the resistors are easy but there are i think 4 wires on each one leaving four empty pin holes that need filled. so which ones did you put this resistor in or did you loop one over to connect two of the pin holes together or what? i'm having a real hard time grasping this as i even measured the ohm load on the plug and it showed nothing. please help.

Yeah if you have the 2ohm resistor's(make sure it's not 2.2k ohms cuz that's 2000ohms.) it's easy. Each seat has an air bag plug right? Well each plug has 4 holes right? If you look into the holes, only 2 of the 4 holes actually have wires in them. Simply take the resistor, make a "U" shape and stick each end of the U into the holes of the plug that has wires. Then just tape it up, and tuck it under the carpet and viola! Repeat for the other side. That explain it?

I take it, that would be a 2 omh 1/4 watt resistor?

As soon as you plug the seats in, then power up the car, the system will query all of the airbags. If it doesn't find an airbag, and knows there was not one there last time either, it doesn't care. If it does find a new airbag though, it sets the flag for it, and it will always expect to find it.

Installing airbag seats is no problem, the computers will recognize them.

A search for older Dr Who posts will confirm this, it is a recurring question.

ok cool, sooo there should be a plug for the airbag seats under my regular viper seats?? that would make sense for the factory to wire every car up to accept airbag seats so they dont have to re-wire all of the cars going through the assembly line for the airbag seats. So do you think that if i put a set of air bag seats in my NON airbag seat SRT that the computer would see them and recognize they are there? And they would hopefully work. Kind of like plugging in a digital camera in your usb port on your computer, the computer will search for it and find it and if it recognizes it it in theory should work properly??

Air bag seats....

I have made the swap from viper to airbag seats. I could not get the airbag light to turn off without unplugging plugs at the sides of the seats. I tried disconnecting battery, resetting codes with key, etc....I have stage 2 pcm and that be an issue? I have no airbag light or codes with the plugs unplugged at the side of seats, but would like to have the benefit of airbags of course.
When I had my stage 2 pcm flashed, before seat swap. We went thru the procedure of the flash. The reflash was done as a new pcm swap out. It ran thru many system tests included was an airbag test I believe. I wonder if I had the pcm reflashed, with the airbags plugged in would that make them active and remove the light.

well...due to car packages that dodge can pull up just by the vin #, i wonder if its in the vin off all what your car has on it, such as sunroof, 6 disc cd changer, kicker system and air bag seats...i mean, dodge has went soo far into the computer part that there system has yet to be hacked for aftermarket controllers....but from what i have been told and read, our computers tries to fix the problems in the car, by testing the area many times, just to make sure that there is a problem before there is any cel or other lights....and after the cel comes on it will continue to test the area, and if finds that it is normal it will turn the cel off...that is what dodge told me....

no 2kohm neither will work. you bought 2000ohm resistors take them back and get just plain 2ohm. any wattage will do.
