Test Drove the SRT in OHIO! Does YOURS do this???

so me and my bro test drove the SRT. while getin on the freeway went from 4th to 2nd, once in 2nd then punched it and it peeled the tires. i thought ok thats fine. then stop at a light later. take off normal and at about 5 MPH i punch it, once it hits 3800 RPM (give or take) the tires just start peeling like MAD. now i dunno about you but id say thats a bad thing. does yours do this or was i doing somethin wrong? but based on that i told the salesman i like the WRX better cause it grips in all the gears. as far as performance i didnt notice the SRT to be faster than the WRX, id say even. Except for the peeling tires, i doubt if all SRTs do that that theyd b fast at all cause there no grip at higher boost. please set me straight if i did something wrong or do all your SRTs do this?

Paragraphs and grammar go a long way.

I have no idea wtf your talking about. If you punch it at 5mph and break lose the tires, your most likely gonna keep spinning and hopping in 2nd.

I have no idea how you can punch it at 5mph and not spin the tires in first unless your ridding the clutch.

If you punching it in 2nd yes you can spin the tires aswell.

3rd go buy an WRX for all I care, and when you wonder why you get owned and your tranny/clutch goes don't come crying back here.

There is a reason why the REX grips better AWD, yet since the energy doesn't get transferred to the grounds via the wheels; all that energy is absorbed by the tranny, awd unit, and the differentials etc.

I find this amusing peeps owning REX's rag on SRT's yet you have to double clutch a highly modified REX otherwise boom goes the tranny :roll:

Normal. Too much power for narrow wheels. :evil: I could even do it on 3rd gear. :twisted: But It's all good.

You seem to be a rex person. Stick with the rex then.

Thats what can happen with a powerful lightweight car. You could do the same with any tuned muscle car. Get a rex if you are into gripping the road. Get a SRT if you like power and speed. Just my .02

back off vanilla. i didnt come here to start a pissin contest between the 2 cars. if u want to start the crap then go post on the 300 other post that nitpick over interior plastics and this and that. i like both cars i was just looking for an ansewr as to why it did spin. it coulda been the uneven pavement here in Ohio. and i didnt shift to 2nd cause theres no point if im just gona spin my tire all the way through the gears. FYI vanila, spinning isnt good if you want to go fast. and im pretty sure everyone knows what paragraphs look like and how to spell, but if you want me to type every word perfect to help you out maybe ill come over and help you with your homework instead of you studying the boards for thier obvious purpose of grammar. :roll:

Trust me broken CV boots and joints + motor mounts+tires are cheaper to replace than an AWD+tranny+diffs (2) a REX tranny alone is $3500.

Meh why bother, besides you must have missed my LSD comment :roll:

I don't ever recall hating on the REX for the interior plastics, or any perfomance car for that mater. :roll:

It also depends what you want out of your car too, REX=auto x monster, and the SRT is good at both drag and auto x.

duder did you say you were launching at 3,50o rpm ??
that might be your first problem !!
i launch a 2,500 tops .. its not a wrx , there is no need to rev the piss out of the engine and pop the clutch.. you see the dodge has what we like to call torque , there for removing the need for an awd tranny drop.. learn how to drive it and you'll be fine

id have to agree, if youre spinning your tires on an srt at takeoff, you DONT know how to launch, and i guarantee you i could take a non sti wrx any day of the week

did you go to spitzer?

if you do the throttle right you wont break loose but if you punch it in 1st at any point it will break loose and almost the same for second. this car has balls no doubt you just gotta work it right.

First this is normal. I do this even in my little Geo or Swift Gt, Rustang, and even in my Hemi truck. You must be new to this or just haven't ridden in a High Performance vehicle. You didn't own a lame Honda, toyota, Nissan before this?

However, in a WRX AWD, it will depend on the RPM level reach before release and tires type for spinning the tire.
