I wouldn't worry using tape for sealing the threads since you should use the supplied air bleed, but i use tape to keep the threads from getting galled up.
Teflon Tape with AGP WG?
Is it needed to tape the brass fitting on top of the AGP WG with teflon tape? I just got mine and I am about to put it on.

It should be a tappered seat fitting so it will seal itself.
