it's about 90 degrees-ish out here in utah. i bring this up because the last couple of times that it was above 80 degrees, i've had problems getting the car into gear. today was especially worse, 10 times worse.
it's hard to get into first from a dig, mind you i'm not racing, literally just putzing around town. then when i try to get it into second, either up or down, it takes at least a second for me to get it into the gate and it's taking significant force to do it. 2nd is the hardest gear to get into and everything but 5th is giving me trouble. again, i wasn't racing or anything so i don't understand why this is happening. i should also mention, i'm going all the way to the floor when i'm engaging the clutch, all the way down.
i was thinking maybe the tranny fluid needs to be changed but i only have 17k miles on my car right now and i know 18k is the magic number to change it.
is the fluid the problem or what?
again i want to add that once it cools off outside, it's not as much, if any, of a pain in the ass to get the car into gear and then cycle through the gears.
i have the same problem man..its the 05 tranny (19k miles), it sucks. i just changed my tranny fluid too(rp synchromax) and it didnt really help all that much. second is usually the hardest to get into but ive pretty much learned how to get around it after driving it for the past week ive had it...5th is the only gear that doesnt give me a problem. I just bought the car a week ago and ive learned that if i shift really fast from first to second it doesnt grind so im just continuing to do that until the sob blows so i can send my trans to pwerks and have them rebuild it. i was talking to my mechanic and he pretty much just told me that the trans on these cars are way to weak for the amount of power the car produces.
waiting for a reply from RS. does anyone know exactly what to adjust? do i adjust the sleave before the retaining clip on the shifter assembly or do i adjust the part where the cable meets the plastic piece w/ a rubber grommet that connects to the shifter itself?
