Standardized Labeling of Modifications Needed?

Should we agree on a uniform way of describing the performance level of the SRT-4? For example when someone says it's a "Stage 1" are they talking about the Stage 1 package Mopar will be offering or the Stage 1 (downpipe w/ cat) that ATP is offering? EXACTLY...I can see that things will only be more confusing as more mods & more companies come along.

What about the whole "BPU (basic performance upgrades)/APU (advanced performance upgrades)" thing made famous by the Supra guys? Also a similar method used by the Audi/VW guys is the "Stage" thing but it's not vender specific. For example, Stage 1 on an Audi S4 = a Chipped ECU regardless of who it's from. Does that make sense? Both of the above mentioned methods use pluses "+" after it to specify additional mods done "inbetween" levels. Any other suggestions?

Who needs stages? All we have to do is put a sticker on our cars for each mod we do. Then it will be evident what modifications we have just by looking at a picture.

Plus, there is the sticker horsepower, which is sure to be rather significant if we can get a decal for every mod.
yea didn't you know? Each sticker adds 10 HP. lol :wink:

I say we go with HP #'s.
250 WHP stage 0 <---- piss of more rex guys
300 WHP stage 1
350 WHP stage 2
400 WHP stage 3
so on and so forth

That's kinda cool as well, although it doesn't say much about the actual mods :? Not bad though! :D

BPU means the car has the following mods in some form or another
intake, downpipe, exhaust, & boost control. In the Supra world everyone knows that this means the car is at about the 375ish WHP level.

I like that stage 0, so much that I added it to my sig :D Now if we just change it to 225whp, it will actually be true!
What about this :idea:

Stage 1 =Boost control
Stage 1+ =Downpipe (any type of cat or racepipe)
Stage 1++ =Intake & exhaust
Stage 1+++ =supplemental non-power producing parts. Ie: BOV's, motor mounts.

Stage 2 =Fuel Control (piggy back or ECU re-mapped)
Stage 2+ =Larger Fuel Pump
Stage 2++ =Larger injedtors
Stage 2+++ =Other supplemental non-power producing parts. Ie: Clutches & LSD's.

Stage 3 =Larger turbo & associated hardware.
Stage 3+ =Cams?
Stage 3++ =Larger Intercooler?
Stage 3+++ =Other supplemental non-power producing parts. Ie: ???

yeah, that wont be hard to memorize! :lol:
Who said you have to memorize it? usually this type of info goes in the FAQ section.

Besides...at least it's something you want to memorize instead of those crappy song with a catchy tune that you cant get out of your head :p
Ahhh.....Ya......I don't think so Tim,

Something simpler, Somone a while back posted Mach 1 stuff and I saw a pretty good example of mods list.

I've just been throwing out suggestions since few people have done so themselves :( By no means am I implying that I'm the sole decider on what to go by? I have imply been using other systems already used by other car owners & tried to adapt it to ours.

Please post your ideas as well?
