I'm currently looking at both cars ( to buy). What are the pro's/con's of each, in everyones opinion?

Please keep it mature, I'm not trying to start a flame thread. Thanks

Hmm.. me dont knows much about the Integra Type R BUT... just using what I do know id say

: Integra:

Not as fast, maybe handles better, more fuel efficient for sure, Resale value is probly a little better, but considering the first year depreciation has already hit,, nothing really to worry about. Havent sat in the Neon yet... but I can pretty much assure that the back seat of the integra is smaller.. I rode around in my friends the other day for 30 minutes and thought I was gonna die.. (im 6'1")

New vs. Used. and Warranty. Is a warrranty available for the Type R?, For sure with the SRT you'll be covered till 2010... on the engine/drivetrain.

Durr... . Hmm...what else,.. SRT has WAY cooler seats in my opinion, Gotta love the factory turbo= easier upgradability, plus the Mopar upgrades which are ( I think) covered by warranty.

Also what is the price difference?,, How many miles are on the Integra?

If you ask me you cant really beat the SRT for the price... and the warranty is great, I dont think that anybody who has bought one has had anything negative to say... seem to be great so far!!

Well, hope this helps, good luck!

Type-R are overpriced at this point ...thank you Fast and Furryass.....

Plus they are often abused (Revved real high just like the honda s2000) I would go with the SRT-4... used cars end up costing more when you have to go and replace parts.... aka my 94 supra =/
Plus they get stolen much quicker as of now....

Just think about this. You are sitting at a light in your new acura Type R. Then a SRT-4 pulls up to you looking at you like you don't want to even know. The light turns green your waiting for 4700 when your Vtec goes Bah and the Srt-4 is long gone. Then you could think about the sport track in your new Integra type R and an SRT is out playing to. You have put about 2000 bucks into the engine and suspension and the Srt-4 engine is fine so he puts all that into suspension. Again you will be watching his inside rear tire raising of the inside of each turn while you enjoy the sound of that Nasty turbo exhuast. Looks like an easy choice to me. But thats me.

There is nothing wrong in asking the forum of which car to purchase. I even bet you been to the Honda board and did the same.

However, it goes back to requirements of the car. Sit down and write a list of what you expect the car to produce. Then with a price in mine, make a list of cars that matches those requirements and test drive them.

It is how I purchased the my first truck and never looked back and said, "WHAT A MISTAKE (as described in Consumer BS Report)."

go drive both and get whichever one puts a bigger smile on your face. :D

i have a used honda right now (95 del Sol VTEC) that is as reliable as a tank. she's fairly fast (b16a3), handles welll enough, is a great daily driver and a fairly decent auto-xer. but i'm trading it all in for an srt-4 (as long as i don't get really fucked on my job and end up fired or something stupid like that... someone on my team is talking shit about the whole department, making the rest of us look like idiots and for some reason, most of upper managment believes him, eventhough he's only been there for 2 months... sorry for going off on a tangent like that...)

anyways, go read my first sentence again. then go do that.

another thing that people seem to forget is your comparing 2 door to 4 door. To me, atleast, that is a huge differenace, no matter how similarly they may run. that shows that either the 2 door isnt up to par, or the 4 door is really good to be able to be compared to a 2 door

I see lots of good advice on here. I think the most important thing is what you are looking to get out of the car. But I feel like probably most on here that the SRT is one of the best BANG-FOR-THE-BUCK cars on the market today. Maybe 4 years ago the Acura was on top, and is certainly a good handling car, I know what I've choosen.

it all depends what you want to do with your car. Both cars are good choices but i would love to have a Type-R on the tracks and SRT-4 on the strip.

Have you considered any RWD alternatives? 240s, rx-7s, 300/350Z? etc mustang? f-bodies

I'm not sure where you live but out here in California, Integras are the most frequently stolen import vehicle. Every single thing the Integra Type R comes with is highly wanted by Honda owners since all the parts are transferable to most of their Civic or Integra lineup. If car theft isn't as big an issue for you where you live then your next concern should be price. If you can find the Type R for cheap enough to offset the price of modifying it to the 14s rather than getting that type of performance stock on the SRT-4 I say go for it. The Type R is one of the best handling FWD cars out there. If however, the Type R is selling for 18 grand (which is the average out here) I would say screw it and go for the SRT-4.

well obviously due to the displacement of the 2.4l compared to the 1.8 naturally you will be able to get more power out of the srt-4..........as for which is going to be faster...........dodge srt-4 is the fastest car evar! :p

Now that is easy: depending on your wallet and rebuilds...PhazRide Dragster pushes 800 plus HP on the same OEM block and OEM crank.
