Well I am going to be a day early. My general idea is a mainly GA, but think 5-10 from Alabama and another couple from South Carolina and Northern Florida might come if it is worth the drive.
November 20
A BBQ on the lake at Claystone park. The rent on the pavillion is only $25 and it has bathrooms, a sand beach with playground for kids, built in grill and trashcans provided. I am going to try to keep this as cheap as possible for eveyone. There is a $3 entry fee into park. This would go on for about 2-4 hours from 11ish till 3ish. Depending on sponsor participation I would like to have a raffle of 2 or 3 car parts with proceeds going to a charity we can all agree upon and maybe a car show with trophies kind of thing. (or is a all srt car show a little :gay: ) Also a chance of seeing a stage 3 car in all its glory (ahem, Dale)
In the next couple of days I am going to send off a proposal to some of the local area vendors such as Maxx Fab, Cooling Mist, Boost Solutions and one or 2 others. Mopar Super Center has already said they are in. Jeff and Ted rock. Even if they are not into a raffle I think they would be glad to come with there products for us to see up close. I for one want to lick one of Maxx's side dumps and would like to learn more about the cooling mist products.
About 3ish we pack it up and head to the silver dollar race track. About a 30 minute drive from the park. The silver dollar is having a test and tune that day and I am still working with the owner on a group discount. My idea is to get a list of track type guys who are willing to give up some time to us track virgins or rookies. I think a pass or 2 with a experienced driver in the car with you to give advice and keep you from looking like an overall fucktard would benifit many people. Lots of folks have never tracked their car because of fear of embarassment in front of a crowd at a track. This should help improve time and garner experience for the rookies. Test and tune goes well into the night.
For those travelling a great distance (I may be getting full of myself here) I need to know in advance to work with the local hotels about a group rate for that as well.
There it is in a nut shell. Anything you can think of to add? This is a rough outline with more details to come in the future. Me jumping thru the hoops is purely conditional on respone to threads like this. In the next week or 2 if it is just the people I normally hangout with anyways then screw it, we will just go to Dale's and put on my stage 3's (coilovers that is) and continue on with our lives in our own little srt clicks. So? you people in or what.
