Soft springs with High damping rate ?

I currently have a set of lowering springs on my car. Since I am now stock with a blown strut, I'm thinking of upgrading for a set of adjustable strut which have more travel.

The coils have about the same spring rate as the "mopar" (a bit more that the stock ones): 175lbs front --- 125lbs rear. Yes, they are Goldlines...

I'd like to know how the car would behave with a higher damping rate. I like the "comfort" I have since I'm riding on the great roads of Montreal most of the time but feal a bit "bouncy".

What's your opinion ?

I don't feal like going for coil overs (1600+$) and the struts I'm looking for are the Tokico Illuminas which are 5 ways adjustable.

Thanks

i love my mopar springs on tokicos.

even on 5 all around it rides ACE, and is 110% driveable while surprisingly handling very well.
By the time you pay for the Tokico's and possibly eventually a set of springs... you'd be very close to the 1k it costs for a nice set of BC coilovers:thumbsup:

explain your logic.

i got my springs/tokicos for 650 all together. NEW

he is just getting the struts, he already has the springs.

for some of us, we cant afford $1k + for coilovers, nor do some of us need such adjustments for a daily driver.

agree, 99.9% of the people having coilovers don't adjust them, they just put them on the lowest setting....

anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Anyone has something else to add ?

Just from personal experience. By the time I had gotten the Illuminas from MPx for $600, then the Pro-Kit from them for another $200, I was a very short time away from being able to throw the other $200 out there. At the time, I figured I'd be satisfied with the setup so I went for it, it didn't take long until I realized I wanted better. I did, however, misread that he already had springs, that's where the fault in my logic plays in. I cannot just throw out $1k at any time either, that's why I'm in the middle of saving up for coilovers right now. One other thing to possibly think about... would you want to consider non-adjustable Tokico's if you're not that worried about the adjustment?
Go for the Illuminas. I love mine.
