I found out from ATP Turbo that their 12.9 run was with 15" slicks, but I don't know the width or diameter. I'd like to get some M&H slicks, and I'm waiting to hear back from them on the exact size, but I was wondering if any of you have tried slicks or know what size I should get?

Relentless Racing has two sizes that sound promising:

7.5/23-15 on a 6" rim
8.5/24.5-15 on an 8" rim

I'd like to go with the wider tire/rim, but I'm not sure if they'll fit.

I just heard from Gary/Relentless Racing. He recommended the MHR-21's (7.5/23-15). I just ordered them.

I asked Gary about rims. Based on his answer I think I'll try to find some cheap stock 15" rims. Here was his reply to me:

Light rims are only a slight advantage and even then if on the back of the
car!

FWD needs all the weight up front it can get when drag racing, stock rims
are fine.

Install the slicks with no tubes, 10-14 psi works best, check the pressure
a few times a day, psi tends to rise as the slicks get warmer. 12 psi is a
good start.

The only problem with stock 15's is that the advice would work with every model EXCEPT the SRT-4. I didn't think ANY stock 15" Neon rims would fit an SRT-4 because of the brake calipers up front. Once you verify exactly WHICH 15" rim fits, can you take some pictures of the slicks and rims and let us know what works?

Thanks!
