as taken from your thread to keep interest cause some people are lazy...

"Figure estimated cost is $285 + the cost of dp. Tip would be unplolished. That would be up to the customer.

Estimated prices (could go up or down):
DP (no cat) and side exit $490
DP with cat $550
Interchangeable dp with cat/race $565
This is a full 3 inch stainless system, 16 ga material (unnlike cheaper systems made form 18 ga)."

waiting for this to go into production my car is going to go through some changes over this winter and side exit was one of my plans...

could we get the dimensions of the resonator size? i currently have a full body round resonator and the exhaust s not quiet enough for me...

also i am going to ask as i was looking around down there i noticed some lines running right about where i would want the exhaust to come out, looks like ebrake, does the exhaust have an effect with the already crappy Ebrake which i did not even put my turbo timer on yet cause i'm afraid of the car rolling away on me cause if being so bad already...

i think those are some posing questions that may come up...

Believe it or not the resonator is actually kinda short, but it does an awsome job at sound supression. With the car idleing, you can stand right next to it and talk in a normal tone of voice.

It's 2-3 times the cost as some other resonators and bullit mufflers, but it's polished 16 ga stainless and has a perforated core (no louvers) surrounded by stainless wool then sound absorbtion material (packing will never blow out like cheaper mufflers like the HP). It's built almost idetical to Magnaflow mufflers.

I don't really want to give away the specs yet.....hope you understand.

The ebrake cable can easily be relocated (have done this on my car) and the other lines/wires are far enough away. Told Dunnie to keep an eye on his ebrake cable (did not relocate his) to see what the effets will be. My guewss is they will be fine.

I'm watching the e-brake cable on a daily basis and it's still fine.

Also another question will come up about heat from the tip. As with any exhaust, I don't recommend touching an exhaust pipe after the engine has reached running temp, but I accidently did and didn't even realize I had touched it. It felt very warm, maybe hot but not enough to burn. Also, the tip is already cool to the touch within a few minutes of turning the engine off.

Another kewl feature I like about the MaxxFab side exit exhaust is no modification needed to the body lip/seam where the tip exits the body, maintains the true integrity of the body structure.

Dunnie

*Edit* Scott, I told you so

the exit on the exhaust in them...is that POSSIBLE for real? would it be possible to have a side exit exhaust on BOTH sides? like have it come off the turbo downpipe then split dual to each side of the car so there's two side pipes as pictured in those pics on the car JUST LIKE the viper?

The lightweight SRT-4 has a "guard" on the sideskirt right above the side exit exhaust....I'm assuming this is in place to protect the sideskirt from melting.

I'd be interested in this exhaust system if a guard for the sideskirt came with it...

I'm keeping a close eye on everything, and all is doing very well heat wise. Also no rubbing, bumping or banging issues.

The lightweight car needs a guard on it because the tips are so close to the skirt. Their tips are 2.5 inch round (think they are the stock tips turned 90 deg) so they have to fit closer to the body to get good clearance.

MAXX Fab tip is only 1.5 inches tall, so it can sit lower, farther away from the side skirt, keep heat away from.

The tip also sticks out about 1/8 inch from the side of the car. This helps get the exhaust gas away from the side of the car before it exits the pipe.

Yo need about 1/2 inch clearance from the plastic to keep it from melting. My single exhaust tip is about 1/2 inch away from the rear facia. Have taken sveral 750 mile road trips, and the fascia only ever got luke warm. The plastic gets hotter from sitting in the sun.

i'm looking to buy as well but checking into the legality issues.
im wondering the same thing. i figure if ford offers an option for side exhaust on the stang, then their cant be any real legal issue other than DB reading? assuming you have a cat in place of course

I'm almost positive that in NJ a side exit before the rear wheel is only legal if it is from the factory. :crying:
