shop messed up my rims!!!!!
ok i went to this shop to get my stock rims powdercoated flat black. well they finally got to the actual powdercoating process and there telling me that there powder is not goin on correctly. there saying when they apply the coat it to stick to the rim. im going there tomarro to see what happend, but have any of you guys had this problem?i will post pics tomarro

They didn't prep/clean the wheel correctly. The Hardest part about coating srt wheels is the stripping of the old paint/epoxy coating. If you don't do it correctly then you will get outgassing. Also since the aluminum is a pourus material, it helps to smooth it out by wet sanding before the prep/cleaning process. BTW I agree with winker they have got to prep the rimms better before they try and apply anymore coating wet or dry if it's not prepped right they will never look as good as they could of.

wow, grammar police handing out tickets hardcore in this thread. Just make sure they're prepping the wheel correctly, and have them avoid heating them up too many times... aluminum is funny sometimes when heated to many times.

yea this place i took them too is pretty fuckin stupid. excuse my french but they said they couldnt do it. i was so pissed off and it also took them 3 weeks just to tell me that they couldnt do it. but yea i know its possiable to do the powdercoat they just dont know what the heck there doing.
