just wanted to know if i can do this:



someone told me that if your an experiienced driver you dont even have to let off the gas when shifting is this true and will damage anything and how is it done???

also at what rpm is the best time to do WOT shift change? when will the rev limiter kick it and do i have to stick it hard into the next gear?

its definatly not good for your tranny and what you gain from it is either nothing or too small to matter much. its not very difficult though, just don't let off the gas, use your clutch and shift fast. as far as what rpm to do it in, no idea. i've only done it in a protege and a stratus.

if your good like myself and shift fast enough you don't need to keep the gas smashed down when shifting. let the turbo do the work and i bet you will still get good times..

I actually run .1 slower shifting WOT ! I have the spring mod and it drops to 13 psi at redline and when I WOT shift the boost stays there insted of climbing to 18 psi when I shift normaly.

From what I have seen on here most people run slower with it. Plus it seems to be hell on your transmission.

well here is something you might want to know with WOT there is alway consitance boost. instead of the turbo have to spool again in between shifts. the turbo stays spooled. as of right now i run stage 2 wastegate and let me tell you my car runs fast with WOT. pushing out 18 to 16 bls

If you're gonna do it, the best way is to be applying pressure to the shifter because when you are accellerating it will not come out of gear...then as soon as you touch that clutch it will fly into the next gear. I would say shift about 500rpm below redline, just don't miss, it sounds nasty and not too good for the car!
