So my shifter/selector cable broke yesterday and I bought mopar cables, routed everything the same and installed everything the same but the selector cable seems to be 1/4 in to short for selecting 1-2 gears, I’m stumbled I’ve tried everything any help is appreciated, yes I have tried to adjust the 8mm bolt in cab but even with the cable I’m hooked it seems to short.

Getting incorrect cables is highly likely, especially if they were from an auto part store. Often they'll have one listing or even show a different part number for the SRT-4's T850 transaxle but you'll get the base Neon T350 trans cables. If you have the old cable and can hold it together, it might be good to bring with you if you order another one.

What broke? If its the rod end, you can get a heim joint (rod end), thread the end of the existing cable and jb weld it on. Its how i fixed mine, 14 years ago
