Actually, what I heard is like this: Expect the FORD GT in the rearview mirror for the Viper GTS.

Think of the V-10 replacement as adding two more cylinders to the 5.7.

Linen Gold for a Magnum or 300C! Hmmmmm! Interesting!

I would be very surprised if they build any AWD SRT-8 model especially since Mercedes nor AMG builds no AWD models and the LX AWD is based on the Mercedes 4-Matic and may not be able to handle the torque. The 4-Matic system is not a High Performance setup and they all ride 1 inch higher than the RWD LX cars which are already to high. The gas guzzler tax on an AWD SRT-8 would be $2k or more.

They need to put a 21 gallon tank in the SRT-8 cars or they will be a pain to drive on long trips stopping every 250 miles for gas.

That there is: MAGNUM 5.7 AWD & 300 C 5.7 AWD.

This however was news to me until yesterday for the 300 SRT-8 model.

I would think that if the whole drivetrain of a RWD SRT-8 can handle 450+ ft-lbs (ignoring losses), then an AWD set-up with 38/62 split (give or take), would put 171 at the front wheels and 279 to the back.

How different are the transmissions? The appropriate transfer case would seem to be all that is needed to handle the 450 and the split.

Good Point, we will have to see. Perhaps the transfer case is the weakest link?

BTW, Mercedes AMG did produce a limited number of W210 E55 AMG with 4-Matic a few years back for Europe but never sent any to US. They have not produced any AWD AMG models in more than 3 years - Probably because there is a very limited market for them.
