Rebates on SRT-4 eventually??

Since California dealers and some others throughout the country are having trouble getting SRT-4's out the door.. how long do you think it'll be until rebates begin to appear?

I dont know, but personally I wont buy the car until they have a rebate..
The car right now is a ridiculous amount of money compared a base Neon, (if you include the 3,000 off you get for the rebate on a reg neon)..

Im waiting until they have a rebate..
I want 3,000 off, plus I want to get it close to dealer invoice. Then I'll buy..
I can alredy get dealer inovice.. But now I want 3,000 off from the factory! If they can take 3,000 off of the regular ones, they can take 3,000 off of the SRT-4.
WHAT are you noobies talking about..

most i have seen are selling like hotcakes...

and overpriced?? 20k for a car that is fast and decent all the way around? what else can you get for 20k with this?

Personally, I love my car and I think that it is well worth what I paid for it. If you wait for a 3,000 dollar rebate then you'll never get one. it's still a great buy for 21 k...IMO.
Actually, around me I have never seen a SRT-4 sit on a lot for more than a week or two. One sat on a lot for less than a day. I think they are all sold out around here currently.
20000 is an alright price but the truth is no one i selling the car for that. i have been looking around at diff. dealers and have yet to find a car under 22000. P.S. im a noob and this is my first post:D. :alfdance:
since the SRT-4 is a Limited Production Vehicle, i very seriously doubt you will see any rebates on it. That would be like asking for a rebate on a Viper or SRT-10 Ram. It's just not gonna happen. All i could see happening is if they still have some left over next model year, then the old model year might be marked down a little.
I think the fine print on most dodge adds say "excludes SRT vehicles" or something like that.

just my $0.02
I think a lot depends on location. I was offered invoice really easy on either an 03 or 04 SRT without any negotiations.

After the intial excitment over the SRT-4 dies down and everyone who really wanted one has one, then they will not sell as fast. . . although if they keep the production numbers down then rebates will be less likely, but if they up the produciton numbers then I would almost bet on a rebate at some point.

I don't think the car is overpriced for $20,000, but that is about all I would pay for one.

Just my 2 cents!
Hey I paid a little less on the sticker price of ~$21.3k but then got RAPED on the trade-in of my Spec-V. For what I ended up paying for the SRT-4 (with my trade-in loss factored in), I could have bought a brand new Subie WRX.... but I'm one HAPPY mofo now. I like this car so much better than the Nissan. :D

I got my 2003 for MSRP, which is $19,995.

Delivery was an additional $500, so I got it for $20,450 or so.

I think your dealers are just loving that a lot of teenagers want this car and have rich parents to pay for it, so you're going to need to beat the living shit out of them with some steel pipes to get the price down.
I have been reading this board for awhile, and it amazes me how many people have paid over sticker, or Sticker.
Here is the REALITY in my area..
(In the Philadelphia area)

In 2003, dealers finnally got the SRT4s in. I went there all excited because I was going to get one.
They wanted 5,000 over sticker!!!This was at multiple dealers..
They would not budge on price.. I walked out laughing, telling them they would never sell at that price.
About 4-5 months later, the dealers that originally scoffed at me, started calling me back to the dealer and saying.. Hey, if you are still interested, come back and have another look..
So I did.. and they would now give them to me at retail..
Ohhh...wooooww. Am I supposed to be impressed by retail??.. LMAO.. I gain left..

Now, about a month ago.. The dealers still have most of the 03's that they originally had in my area, and also now have 04's...

I can now get either of them at DEALER INVOICE.
You people who pay retail have no patience. I dont care what area you are from, supply will eventually meet demand, and then the dealers will DEAL!!!!!!

Anyway, I think at the end of next year there will be a rebate on the 04's. Dodge is not going to be able to move as many as they need to. The base Neons are priced 4-5,000 less than the SRT-4, which, IMO, is already ridiculous for what you get, and then throw in the fact that the SRT4 has no rebat, so that makes it in reality about 8,000 more than a base Neon. LMAO.. It does not cost dodge 8,000 more to make the SRT4 over a Neon.. Let me all re-assure you of this.

Until the Neon has a 3,000 rebate, Im not going to budge. :)
I have test driven 3 SRT-4s, and have loved them all.. But Dodge has to discount these cars if they expect to keep moveing them..
The insurance is super high, and the car is not discounted much. This makes for a very high combined payment amount for insurance and carpayment for a NEON!.

I can right now buy a brand new Mustang GT for what an SRT-4 costs.. (If you include all the rebates and insurance costs)..That just makes me question the whole .. "Do I really want to drive a Fast Neon everyday?" notion.. To that, I answer YES, but only if I can get one cheap!! Which is supposed to be the whole point of this car.. CHEAP SPEED!!!! Right now, its not very cheap. Dodge needs to REBATE!
I'm going to wait a little while longer. SRT-4s are not going anywhere in my area. Its just a matter of time.. Probably like another 9-12 months...mark my words :)

Welcome noob! Keep looking around, eventually you will find a dealer that will sell it at sticker. I had to, and I ended up paying sticker. Good luck!
Dodge isn't even making money on this car. So why the heck would they give a 3k rebate and loss money on it?
We already have used ones in my area(Clearwater). I personally want a new one because there is no telling what kind of damage some dumb ass kid did to the thing because they don't know about the car. You never know. The new ones are selling @ $21,995.00 Which is only a grand higher than invoice I believe. I am just saving for a good down payment because they won't give me shit for my car. I don't blame them. It's a hooked up Kia! lmao!

Either way I don't see rebates comming anytime soon if at all.

lol @ rebates...the car is cheap as it is....fools
1994 cobra: You are certainly entitled to your opinions, but I paid sticker back in April and that was quite a feat at the time. At that time, every dealer was selling over sticker and absolutely nobody was selling below sticker!

My guess what happened with the dealer that you went to is this: they were trying to rape their customers over the SRT-4 on the price by overcharging by $5k. Those customers found other dealers that were not charging above sticker. Therefore, the customers that would have purchased from that dealer purchased their SRT-4 elsewhere. Now, a few months later, the dealer that overcharged is stuck with cars that they can't sell (surprise, surprise). They may have gotten a few to bite but most walk away from it. Now they want to deal with the same people they tried to screw. Hmmm...does that instill confidence in that dealer? Of course not! Even if you didn't buy your SRT-4 elsewhere, the last thing you want to do is do business with a dealer that just tried to ram it where the sun doesn't shine.

Just wanted to make a small, un-inflamatory comment about your comparison of what you can purchase a mustang for compared to the SRT-4. Mustangs have been Ford's pony car since forever (I happen to be a fan of the stang myself so don't flame back). The SRT-4 is a limited production car that will only be produced, or so it is reported, for a few years. Therefore you cannot compare the two for this purpose. Some of us truly believe that our SRT-4s will be of increased value in the future and do not mind one bit paying sticker for the car!

they do make some money off it... trust me!

but yea, 1994cobra- if you wont buy until you see a 3k rebate, you might as well not browse the boards looking for info about the car- because you will never own it!

dont you want the fastest car EVER, now???
Why would Crysler offer a rebate when people just a few threads away will be upset (and hey I can't blaim them) because they've been waiting for months and their car is still sitting in 'D' status? I had to wait about four months for my car to be produced.

It would be wonderful if they offered rebates, i'm a poor schmoe myself. But it just doesn't seem likely, not now, and maybe not ever.

Invoice on an 03 is $18,645, sticker $19,995. Dealer markup, who knows and it doesn't matter. You seem to think you know everyhing however as SRTGURL pointed out it is just your opinion. It took me 5 hours and leaving the dealership twice (them calling me back on my cell phone not 5 minutes out the door!)

You will never see a rebate on this limited production car. Those who really want it will buy it, those looking for rebates should just buy something in their price range. I managed to get them down to sticker, but in the end I would have paid more because this is the car I wanted.
