Don't buy anything from Rocky Mountain Radar, the guys a crook and sells boxes with LED's that do nothing. There are no effective radar jamming devices anywhere. Laser Jammers do work, but the ones that work are fairly expensive (over 1K). Anything cheap, be leary of..BMXfreak said:mmmkay, thanks for the opinions all. I'm probably gana go with Valentine1... how about jammers? I've been reading about some, k40 and blinder's, but they seem too expensive. Anyone have one/have an opinion on one?
Umm, you do know that the V1 has three modes you can set, right? There's an "all bogey's" mode which reports everything (you DON'T want it in this mode in the city, only on the highway), a "logic" mode with greater filtering and an "advanced logic" mode which filters out the majority of the crap signals you get in the city like K-band emmissions from supermarket alarm systems. I've had a V1 for 5 years, no tickets. Same results with my other family members who all use V1's. If you're concerned about cops, V1's have anti-VG2 built-in (VG2 detects detectors) and you can buy a concealed display module which allows you to place the arrows and warnings anywhere you want, effectively blacking out the main unit in the windshield. V1's are also hardware/software upgradeable, so, instead of having to shell out $$ for a new detector every year you simply pay some money to have the V1 upgraded (and it costs a LOT less to upgrade vs. buying a new detector). V1 is the best, hands down.gdflys said:The arrows on the the V1 are great but, the selectivity or falsing on it are way to high. That thing sings like tweety bird on your dash in the city. The 8500 is very close to the same range as the V1 if not better but it doesn't false nearly as much, but no arrows. If you are driving fast enough  you don't need to worry about radar behind you. IMHO all the falsing numbs your attention so the V1 is actually dangerous is my mind. The 8500 is sitting right below the mirror in my SRT.
