Well, this morning After dropping my kids off at school I was driving up hwy 18 here in Apple Valley. I noticed in my rearviev mirror a civic coming up fast. I did my usual move over so he could just go on by. He slows down an does a ricer fly by. We then did a quick burst in second gear and I noticed he was able to keep up a little bit! What tipped me off is the blow off valve I heard. I was like, no way, but it was a decent looking car so maybe it had some goodies under the hood. We turned down a more desolate road and he took off. No biggie, not the first time I missed a chance to race. He slowed down, I caught up. we go.......in 2nd. I had him by a car through the turns in this road. At the stop sign I asked if he had a turbo, he said ya it was turbonetics 57 trim. I said lets go from a stop. We did. He got a car and a half on the launch and by third I had about half a car. 0 to 140. I was barely ahead. I stopped and checked out his car. No shit, turbonetics 57 on there, fuel mods, hks bov. Setup looked old an kind of beat to hell, but he said he only paid 3500 for the car so pretty cool. Car was kind of smoking a little so you could tell whoever had the car before beat the piss out of it. He said it needed rings so he was losing some of his boost pressure. Interesting morning for me and I am sure I will see him again. My mods are stage1, agp wga, mapclamp tuned to 12.0 afr. Thats it.

For 3500 you can't go wrong. He'll probably have to dump another 5k into it to build it up right.
No, I didnt rub it in. The thing was probably beat to hell and smoked on hard acceleration. Im not saying it impressed me, but at least it wasnt a dumbass kid with an air ntake thinking he was the shit. He said it had a Acura motor but we werent sure which one other that it was a twin cam 16 valve. I laughed at him when he first went by and he said he gets that shit all day long. Pretty cool guy though. It looked to be built pretty good an done right from what I could tell, it was just tired.
i raced a turbo civic hatch from a 40 roll. that was when i was S1 and S2 WGA and he was running 9lbs. i pulled on him by about 2 cars by 90 and he had that WOW look on his face and he asked how many psi i was running and when i told 18 psi it looked like he shit his pants. i like running turbo civics cause you never know what they got under the hood. good fun

See that's what I was thinking when I heard the blow off valve. That he was basically going to make short work of me. He did tell me he thought I was going to run off and leave leave him at the top, but I showed him my little ass turbo in comparison to his and he said "oh". The acura motor was probably a b18c1. The acura integra GSR motor. I used to own a 98 GSR with a .63 a/r turbine housing on a t3/t4 turbo. On the stock motor and 8lbs of boost it made 258 whp with Hondata. Fun little car, only problem is the torque, or lack of. 179 wtq :tongue: And the fact that the stock block cant take much more than 300whp.

The main advantage that Civics have is that they are light. They can be a good contender. But stock SRT4's are good contenders too. And look out for modded ones!!

That and the dumbass threads he started made me not want to associate with him. That and he never returned some tools I loaned him. I will post his link.
