this was my second oil change and i did it about 1 month ago. i went to pep boys to change my oil and they told me that i should put a bottle of Lucas oit stabilizer i thinks thats what is call. so thinking that is was going to help i say yes. but now people tell me thats bead for the turbo. the car is a 2004 srt-4 silver with 5000 miles. i had the old change with 4300 so i drove 700 miles with this oil in my car. now the oil i use was 5w 30 instead of the 10w 30 so i thinking if i put the 5w 30 with the lucas crap then i should be okay otherwise what should i do ?

sorry for the bad spelling and everything else

Holy shit, your need to finish 4th grade before posting here. Just use 5w30 with no additives and you'll be fine. I'd flush out that stabilizer or whatever, they were just trying to make you buy more shit you don't need.

What did you add to the oil exactly? If it is running ok, I'm sure you'll be fine, but if it was me I'd flush it out and put fresh oil in it and a new oil filter. Others cut corners, but have problems later on. Well, do what you want, but you should be fine, just don't fall for what they say at the parts shop, they were just trying to get you to spend more money.

You used 1 bottle of Heavy duty stabilizer or 1 bottle of Synthetic Oil Stablizer? If you used the heavy duty with mobil one syn, I'd flush that shit out ASAP. That's like using 4 parts mobil 1 syn with 1 part conventional motor oil.

While we're on the topic of oil changes... Anyone know if 10W-30 is better than 5W-30 for our cars? The reason I ask is because the oil cap says "5-W30" and the owners manual stats to use "10W-30." Does it matter? Or should the choice be based upon the temperature and season? Just something I've always wondered. Why'd Mopar have to confuse an SRT-4 NOOB like myself :eeeek:

Thanks in Advance,
Jason

Here is a quote from the bottom of the description of the heavy duty stabilizer: Blends with all automotive lubricants, even synthetics, mineral oil and ATF.

I don't think you should see a problem from using the Lucas stuff, but there is no need for it. Mobil 1 is a premium quality oil and doesn't require anything else be mixed with it. Why are you on your second oil change at 4300 miles? Just use Mobil 1 5w30 only, every 3000 miles, and you will be fine. Also save up some cash man. If you don't even have 20 bucks for new oil right now what are you going to do if something else happens?
