p1188....E D?? Nate??

Ok, so I hooked up my TurboXS Dual-Stage Boost controller this weekend, and was running at 15 psi max, although I haven't been accelerating hard enough most of the time to hit that. Everything seemed fine other than the fact that the boost seems a little chunky.

Well, today I threw a CEL. p1188. I didn't notice any difference in the way the car was running, just that the CEL came on. I've been keeping up with all the posts about the boost controllers, and had it hooked up like this:

Capped the stock line running to the wastegate.
T-d off the black line coming from the intake manifold by the TB to run to my MBC and then to the wastegate. Is this hooked up right? Any thoughts why I threw the code?

Aaron, based on the most recent thread (drolander's), you have everything hooked up correctly. What psi were you boostin at?

**EDIT** I do not have mine set-up this way.....yet!

Thats how I have mine hooked up. I dont know what it is that triggers that code yet. I think its the TIP but im yet to figure out what it is. Waiting for my data logging tool to come in then I will rearange my hoses so I can trigger that fault and see what was going on when it occured.
BOOST

In the meantime, I think I'll put it back to 12, clear the computer and see if it triggers at all again. I love how fast the turbo spools now. :D
Hey Pit i bet the boost comes on lumpy up top doesnt it...i mean its spiky correct?
boost

Yep, it sure is.
Not at all smooth like stock. I'm wondering if I set the boost controller at stock boost levels if it'll act the same?

Did you get a DSBC or a HPDSBC?

Give me a call, because I’ve got some ideas about how to help your boost spikes. I'll be back in the office in the morning.

Hey guys - I'm out of my league when it come to modding my car myself, even just installing a boost controller, but Maybe I have some info you'd find interesting.

I currently have 1876 miles on my car, but about 2 weeks ago, I had just about 1100 on it, and was driving down the freeway, when my engine light came on. nothing major, car still ran fine - but I got home and checked the code - p1188. I tried to look it up on OBDII.com, but they didn't have it listed, so the next day I went in to my dealer and had them check it out.

They told me that they ran a performance test, and that the car had an "overboost performance fault". They found a vacuum nipple at the intercooler hose between the intercooler and throttle body broken. Since they found no logical reason for the failure, they ordered the part from detroit, (last one in stock according to the computer) and fixed it in 3 days.

My car was completely stock when this happened - I hadn't installed anything yet. I don't know if this p1188 relates to your problem, but since I recognized the fault, I thought maybe you'd all like to know.

Honestly, I have no idea. I bought it from a guy I know, since he'd just bought an EBC. I didn't know you even MADE a HPDSBC.
How can I tell which one I have? I'm guessing DSBC, but I don't know for sure.
