Well considering we have transmissions that were built for trucks I doubt that many people will have problems. Most of the problems come from burning up clutches. The trans is actually pretty stout...

I would agree with you there. However its the "little" things that break in manual transmissions. Things like the shift forks or stop rings (AKA Brass blocking rings.) If you drive it like a jerk (power shift all the time) it's only a matter of time untill you will snap those two items. Other than that unless you grind every gear when you shift the gears themselfs will hardly ever die.
