My motorcycle adheres to more strict break-in procedures than a car so I don't know if it applies or not, but I did change the oil in it after 500 miles.
I think its a great idea to do it earlier as most of the metal shavings are going to come from the first few miles. I personally will change my SRT's oil after 500 miles, then at 1,000 as an extra precaution since its turbocharged. I can't say for sure if this is the best way or not.
do it now Grunge u'll be all set then i'd suggest another change at 1000-1500 then again at 3000. It was pretty funny, Joey in the lube are for Jerry Ulm knows me by first name..lol..driving 30 miles one way to work they'd see me once every two weeks  . Anyhow they knew how particular i am about oil changes id roll in there with the exact milage for LOF exactly ever 3k miles
We did an analysis on the first Hemi truck after 500 miles (switching out to Mobil 1 oil). What we found after 500 miles was absoutley almost zero containments from the internals. So, it didn't warrant any oil change until 1500 or 3000 miles depending on driving habits.
Whoa...something different at Chrysler from ten years ago? No metal bits in the oil pan? LOL
give the additives time to work !! dude trust me wait until 1500miles @ the least. you do not need to change it @ 500 miles that is insane... if you like 2 waste cash then do it, but in the long run the friction is better for your car since NOW it is brand new or with 700 miles!! I changed my oil @ 1,500 miles
I will be in 5th gear just coasting on the highway and randomly the SRT will loose all power....like if I was hit with one of those electrical shut off weapons from Fast in the Furious LOL!
But seriously....no throttle, no nothing.....for a brief 5 seconds or so....then it comes back up.
Ok, I know there were only 1175 produced, I am sure we have lost quite a few along the way till now. I was on craigslist today and I found 4 ACR's on there all within 45 minutes of my house, 2 of them being 15 minutes from me. Do you guys think there are still a bunch out there, or did they all...
They sold about 23000. I used to see a bunch back in the day. Not so much anymore. For those srts still functioning, what is the age group of the current drivers? I'm on the older side. I figure young people are more concerned about the latest phone instead of keeping a 15 year old car on the...
I just bought a 05 srt4 mods:
3in catted full exhaust
Everything else is pretty much stock
I've searched and come up blank about this.
I learned the car should be around 18 max for a stock turbo setup with mods. But I'm pushing 21psi in 3rd and 24psi in 4th. So I...
