I'm thinking about taking my first trip to the track tonight. Are there any tips/hits/etc. you guys could share that would make it a better experience. Launch techniques, shift points, etc.

To my experience, Don't shift up shift back...stupid nob. i have seen start from idle get traction the go. Don't drive through the water pit and do a burn out no need on street tires. Don't drop the clutch from some high rpm. I have only been once but that is what i found out in three runs. try to get the most runs in as you can. you only get better with practice...
