The interesting thing is the trap speed 100.6 to 99.5. That Neon is coming on at the big end just as strong. I have seen several SRT times over 100 so let's say the trap speed is pretty close to a even.
Did the SCC guys use the same 6000 RPM bonzi launch as the R&T testers? It looks like the Evo must have a huge advantage out of the hole. However, once the cars are over, say, 45 it might be close. The Evo has a 17 HP advantage at the wheels, but the SRT weighs 400 lbs less. At any speed where the Evo's significant traction advantage is not a factor I don't think it will walk the SRT. I will look forward to finding out.
Do they have any of the rolling speed numbers?
Don't get me wrong I think the Evo is a bad assed ride. Everything I have read it handles like a Moe Foe and goes like stink. I will clearly whip an SRT in the quarter, to 60, and on a road race track.
However, one thing that I consider with any car I buy is the every day fun factor. How many days can you do a full on quarter mile acceleration from a dead stop and drive around corners at nine tenths. Not many in town if you want to keep your licence. Most of the time in every day driving you get your jollys punching your car from a roll of 15 to 45 MPH. This has got to be one of the SRTs strong points.
