I went to Lakehurst for a test this week. While getting gas, I happened to glance back at the pump, even though I had told him premium, he had tried to poison my car with 87 octane nfire: I caught him before the nozzle went in the tank. Saved me some prison time, him a beating j/K

On a related note, WTF is this can't pump your own gas shit :?:

My thought

1. Official line "You can't have any amatuer operating these complex devices, they could hurt themselves, or worse, poison the planet by spilling gas.

2.Reality = Law passed due to lobbying by gas station owners, makes it harder to detect pump tampering. (Like the time on the NJP the guy managed to get 12.5 gallons into my more than half full twenty gallon tank :? )

I used to live in NJ. It is one of only 2 states in the country that don't have self serve. I still don't know why. But in Oregon, the other state, the people just voted self serve DOWN on a referendum. So go figure.
