ok heres the deal...........this weekend was a good one.......i had my first TEST with a bad ass grand national not too many peeps will mess with.... he has a huge single turbo and built motor with auto tranny, and i knew he was going to walk me, but when we raced, TWICE froma 35 and then a 45 role, both times, i was at his bumper through an 1/8th, and maybe 2 cars back after a quarter.........this was a loss but a good loss considering he runs low 6's at the track on drs.........
anyways, after that i was driving back excited getting on the car, when all of a sudden iw as at about 120 and missed a gear and it went GRRRRRRRRR... but didnt pay it any mind till i got home.......when i got home there was a knocking.......today it was worse...you hear it, like a muffled knocking coming from the top end it sounds like, but only when i rev...... there is also oil leaking from below the motor at the transmission.....im so pissed at this thing........remember this is a 410 whp car so missign a gear prob hurt me.......what you guys think it could be, and how much usuallyf or the fix? darrell cox is comming up the shop tomorrow to look it over but i was hoping you guys could feel me in first so i can sleep better
thanks guys

Maybe I should call B.S on this, I don't Know. With 400 whp you should be running HIgh 11's maybe 11.5. Either your B.S or your friends Gn is. Running low 6's would be way more than a couple cars. Darrel Cox is the dragg race guy right? But I reserve comment because your name has popped up here alot and your probably respected.

Oh O.K that makes alot more sense. those G.N's are mean machines! My dads work partner has a black one that is as straight as an arrow. His friend is meticulus and charged him 4500 for a frame off paint job that should have cost around 15000.

Couple of things:

Fuel cut-off saves your engine. Don't worry about that unless you are not running a mopar PCM and the fuel cut-off is set incorrectly.

Mechanical over-rev is a different story and not even Baby Jesus himself will be able to help you. I don't think this is the case. Check the oil line for the turbo and your oil filter to make sure they are not leaking. High oil pressure does weird things on loose connections.

Note:

400hp+ on the stock 2.4L will not last forever.:crying:
