My SRT4 vs friends 4g63t swapped Hyundai

Yeah I always wondered why not so many people swapped something into those cars. Shouldn't it be faster than that?

it was on the 14b turbo, that turbo doesnt make alot of power. they need to out a 20g or 50trim on it, then it will fly

yea i saw that, but that one had a good amount of mods

I remember reading somewhere the Hyundai's block was engineered from a 4g63 casting in a partnership with mistu... should be mechanically simple for a swap.

14b's aren't that bad of a turbo. They have gotten a few DSM's into the 11's.
The t-25's on 2g's on the otherhand suck ass and are best used for paper weights. Keep in mind this car weighs about 2200lbs, 14b or not this car is going to move. One thing he does have going against him though is that he is running a 1g mas rather than a 2g mas and on top of that has nothing to tune with other than a safc and as far as I know he has no wideband. With a wideband and DSMlink to tune I'm sure he could get alot more out of that car.

I believe he had to use all the mounts from a hyundai elantra and cut out some of the metal on the driverside enginebay. The guy driving the hyundai in the video did all of the work to the car and has a red hyundai of his own with the same swap but his car is a 4 door version excel pictured here. Huge sleeper.
I can probably get him on here to explain what he completely had to do to get the 4g63 to fit. He's a good friend of mine.

Local guy had a 4g63t swapped colt that made 708whp on a gt42, trapphed 148mp. His name is coltboostin on here.

That was just a 3rd gear pull.....It could have been out of the power-band for the DSM I'd like to see an actual race not just a gear pull.
