how fast did the ss run and how fast do they run stock?
ive been wondering this and havent messed with any... yet.
ive only come across one and decided that ive been in one and it was NUTTY fast so i figured it would be faster than my stock srt-4 at the time.

Stock SS's are faster stock vs stock against the SRT-4. However, a mildly modded SRT-4 is capable of low 13's high 12's and can beat a stock or Lightly modded SS. If you want to beat the faster SS's your going to need a turbo swap, because mildly modded to highly modded SS's are nuts. :eveilgrin

they feel nutty fast because they have some nice torque in there. srt-4 should be able to hang with an automatic ss. but one with the 6 speed.... i dunno

SS runs a 13.30 bone stock at around 106mph. They run that all day. An SS with an intake exhuast, and headers = mid to high 12's. JR you can't beat a mildly modded one. And by all means race one, but go from a dig. Only sissies race from a roll.

i've had both cars

I just got out of a 99 ss camaro that ran mid 12.s all motor and got an srt4.With a few mods u can definatly beat a stock one but good luck beating one with some serious mods.You will need some nos or turbo upgrade.

This is true, we used to have an auto LS1 w/ the 2.73 rear end (not exactly prime for drag racing) and I ran a 13.7 with it the one time out at the track.
