I have had both on my 98 R/T. The money is not an issue for me. So far so good the inserts they work great! I don't think it has anything to do with what your budget will allow, it just how do you want to spend your money. I think the mounts are very good to! I just feel from my experience with mounts and inserts they both do the same thing. The only difference I can find between the two is the price. I bought the inserts because I have had them on past cars along with friends who had them on their cars and they work great. It really comes down to what you want to spend, not how much you have to spend.

on 2nd gens they intruct that you remove the mounts to put in the inserts so both are equal in install except mounts are an even swap
