I wanted to get your guys opinion on mods. According to our god [email protected], Mopar is coming out with a decent list of aftermarket goods. I had the mindset that I would wait for them for warranty reasons and because I figure, Mopar knows this car best. But I was wondering if some of the other stuff that is out right now would be a better bet.

I know its tough to make the call without a list and prices from Mopar, but wanted to get some input as my car is begging for some more juice.

mods

Let me be the first to say that WAITING SUCKS!!
I'm definately not a patient person, but I'm making myself wait. I really think it'll be the best to see what cards are on the table before deciding. I keep telling myself "one month more, that's all". In the meantime, some filled motor mounts & a MBC won't hurt, now will they?

I know it's hard. I do think Mopar will be coming out with some excellent parts. But I can't wait. I'm willing to buy other parts now, and if necessary replace them later.

I'm approaching this car like a component stereo. I want to get the best components I can, regardless of manufacturer. And no matter what I buy today, I know there's going to be something better and cheaper in 6 months. That's just life.

I cheated its easier too wait for mods when you don't have the car. I told myself not to buy the car until the mods from Mopar were out. I wan't the car bad and have visited the shop many times to look at my future car but all I tell myself is STAGE 2, STAGE 2 and I can wait for that.

I'm buying stuff now! I remember when I had my 98 R/T, I ordered so many parts from mopar performance, it took sooooooooo long to get the stuff. Like over a year for the header! And the rest of the stuff it took over 6 months from the day I ordered it. I hope that all the stuff for the SRT-4 dosn't go on back order! My 98 R/T had alot of mods and I never had any warranty problems though!

....that even though mopar makes the mod parts that they would void warrenty on the car if they caused any problems and that mod parts are covered under there own warrenty and are treated the same as mod parts from other companies maybe BJ could clear this up for us..

I'm waiting for the mopar stuff. Not that turbo XS is some backyard tuner or anything, but I think the guys who built the car know best. Even if the stage upgrades void the warrenty, Mopar knows what the car can take and what it can't. Maybe i'm just paranoid, but if I have to void the warrenty with mods, i'd like to do it with parts built for my car specifically.

I believe the whole point in creating the stage packages and mopar items were not only for performance but to offer these directly from the dealer and dealer installed.

If you buy the parts from mopar through the dealer and have the dealer install them it will not void the warranty.

If you purchase them on your own from mopar and install it and it kills your car I think then it is not covered, only the part from mopar but if it is deemed that the part caused your engine to die I am sure they would have to repair it anyways unless you installed it wrong.
