Now, all of you SHOULD be at Bitburg....but here some other things to do:
(or a way to keep the wife/missus busy while you are at Bitburg....)

Bazaars, Fests, Fairs, Fun etc.

The first of the Fall Bazaars is this weekend in Schweinfurt at Conn Barracks in the Finney Fitness Center. This bazaar has 50 vendors and features furniture, pottery, clocks, wines, art, jewelry, ornaments, etc. Strollers are welcome and checks and credit cards are accepted. Opens at 11 each day.

Wetzlar holds a Brückenfest from September 3-5 featuring music, sports and food.

Licher Brewery celebrates its 150th jubilee in Lich with a final free concert on Saturday at the sports field Fasanerie in Lich beginning at 7:30 pm. Beer and food available.

The Mathematics Museum in Giessen features New York Meets Giessen, displaying the work of American artist James Rizzi from September 5 until October 5. Admission: adults €6, under 18 yrs, €4, under 6 yrs, free; family admission €12.

Steinbach hosts a Kirmes from September 3-6 at the Festplatz in Fernwald.

Gleibergfest and Historical Market is September 4-5 at the Castle Gleiberg in Wettenberg.

Münster hosts a Kirmes September 3-5 at the Festplatz.

The 44th Hanauer Bürgerfest takes place in Hanau September 4-6 at the Schloss Philippsruhe. Multimedia Water show events are each night at 10 pm.

The Flic-Flac Circus is in Kassel from September 2-19. Check out the website www.flicflac.de for more information.

A Kunsthandwekermarkt takes place in Heidelberg at the Theodore-Heuss Brücke [bridge] on September 4.

The International Hesse Circuit [cycling] races from Frankfurt through September 5 on a 538 mile course.

Baden-Baden hosts the International Horse Racing Grand Festival Week.

Berlin sponsors the Hovercraft World Cup from 1-5 September

Hamburg features the Rowing World Masters Regatta through September 5.

Hamburg also hosts a Triathlon on 4-5 September.

Produce [Wochenmarkt] Markets -
Wednesday and Saturday in Giessen
Wednesday and Saturday in Friedberg
Tuesday and Saturday in Butzbach.

The Braacher Kuckucksmarkt [Cuckoo Market] is weekends from May till October at Braache near Rotenburg an der Fulda, from 10 am to 6 pm. There will be special exhibitions of Arts and Crafts as well.

Music

“The Kloster Schiffenberg continues its summer concert season with Bogdan at 8 pm on Friday, September 3, the Skyline Brass Band on Saturday at 8 pm and Giessener Musik-und Gesangvereine on September 5 at 2 pm. Free Admission

It's emailed to me by my BSB's PAO office. She blasts it out to everybody in the 284th BSB once a week. One week I got her to blast out about Bitburg.
